Izzy to the Eels to play Centre!

Anyone else hearing the rumours of Izzy being signed up to fill the vacant centre position vacated by Michael Jennings? Could be a wonderful replacement if true.  Talent galore and would ignite our attack in so many ways.  Would also attract some wonderful publcity for the Club, given that he has not committed any offence. As for the rumours, I haven't heard them either!

  • Did you watch him recently? Ordinary

  • Yes i did hear those rumours , however the years were 2012 & 2014 .

  • That would be a massive step backwards, no chance.

    • All things being equal I cannot see anything wrong with it..... have no idea about the feasability or liklihood but I have no problems with age, ability or his politics.....his ability to jump and catch would probably have no equal in the NRL.

People talk about the age of players, I would take the Morris twins in a heartbeat. Waqar would just have to learn to become a forward Lol..... actuallly I think there are a few clubs around that would snap up Waqar Blake if the circumstances allowed Parra to let him go. Cowboys  or the Dogs comes to mind!

I have never been a real negative Waqar person, I liked the idea when we recruited him, but I am coming around very strongly that the guy does not have the skils of a modern day centre i.e. defense and setting up your winger.

      • Poppa its the exact same scene as bringing Hayne back from the nfl. Just a spotlight signing and nothing else.  Alot of sponsorship deals would probably end in a hurry,  plus izzy offer's nothing now. Be a complete backwards step when so many good young centres are playing well.

        • No comparison with Hayne Brad,  what young centres are playing well? the ones that the Morris boys runover every weekend. He offers nothing ? do you remember him very well Brad? he may just be the x factor we are looking for!

          • It's got nothing to do with the Morris boys. They play with heart and aren't just show ponies like izzy and hayne.

Izzy brings a lot of bad publicity with him as well and could actually lose sponsors over it. Plus the fact he has been out of the game so long will make it hard for him to even play half as good as what he was. There is a few centres I would be going hard for.

"Same, Kurupt. Whatever the outcome, Jim, Beach, Ryles and the club stood united and stood their ground when they were meant to roll over for the Storm and PLV, discreetly. Moses SC has also been brilliant."
