Ivan Cleary has no class

He has the audacity to call a press conference today and lay 100% of the blame for Moses leaving on Mitchell and his agent. He's apparently never experienced this in 10 years. He's old fashioned and doesn't believe in players changing clubs mid season. Moses' attitude and form left him with no option but to let him leave.I feel his press conference was completely unnecessary. Cleary called it specifically to discuss Moses. As a career nrl coach I'm sure he's experienced players coming and going mid season. (I'm sure someone smarter than I could find an example of this). It's also well documented that Moses was told several times that he would be released only to have that assurance not come to fruition.Cleary stated you were either on the bus or not. He then pulled the offer to Moses leaving him no choice but to look elsewhere knowing he was no longer valued. This press conference is a classic example of 'it's better to have people think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt'.

  • Well first of all Ivan took a mans job mid season .
    • Lol
  • I'm stoked we signed Moses but I reckon Cleary has a point. The Tigers signed a replacement but he won't arrive until his current contract with the Dogs is finished. The Tigers needed Moses until the end of the year and they were entitled to that due to the contract Moses agreed to. I'd be pissed if a player we needed demanded an early release.
    • I think it all comes back to the off the bus comment . If Cleary didn't put that offer on the table maybe the kid wouldn't have wanted out until his contract was over .
    • Then Ivan Cleary, should have said from the outset to Mitchell Moses, "you have to stay until end of season and that's it" and not pussy foot him around saying things like, "this is your last training session" etc........
That's the sign of an immature coach whose just playing mind games because he's annoyed that Mitchell Moses has signed elsewhere and wants out as soon as possible.

    • Of course he would have if it suits his agenda.
    • He released a few at penrith and actually signed young DWZ younger brother few weeks ago who at tigers now.
Not to mention he was a mid season signing for his job.
