its Time

I know that there has been alot of debate about trade windows and drafts but now i believe that it is the time to adopt a US style draft and transfer system.Lets put aside coaches for a moment and look at talent, the greatest benefit of a salary cap is a generally (i say that losely) even competition. As such, there is a good chance that any side in the comp could beat any other side on the day. What we are seeing though, especially with the likes of Parramatta is that you have players that you want to move on and just cant.I know some will say what about contracts etc, but we have to let that go. Its a business and the business is winning. So we want to get rid of Corey, he knows it, the teams knows it, the media and fans know it but we just have to keep going on as it is life is normal.Wouldnt it be better if we could trade Corey and get a front rower or a hooker in return? How often do you see players swap teams and florish (aka Brett Finch to Melbourne).I mentioned in an earlier blog that i dont care who wears an eels jersey as long as they win and they break the 30+ year drought.Lets get with the times, let move our game forward and accept that its a business and get players that want to be at clubs and clubs have players that want to bring results

  • NBA and nfl are one of the best run franchises in the world I’d agree a draft system would be good but nothing will ever change under Greenberg the game will get worse and worse
  • I have put forward my ideas on this on numerous occasions, and yes I agree the league needs a rookie draft w/ a rookie salary scale, a soft cap w/ a luxury tax, restricted free agency & trades. It is an absolute must, the sooner the better.
