The resilience of the Eels faithful is tested again, bar lines are short at home games
Normally it has been the board that we've been disappointed in but now there are players going wayward as well.
I'll keep following the Eels but my interest in the NRL has waned considerably, and really as an Eels fan I feel like the NRL and the club has failed the fans so why should I watch and give them revenue.
The players and coaching staff are busting a gut as usual but they have also been let down and you can tell by there lack of wrestle the other night that the spark has gone out of there game.
Usually I try and get interested in AFL or even the Shute shield, don't have foxtel so Super 15's isn't available.
This year I'm going to attempt to jump on the GWS wagon.
The NRL kind of just stinks a bit.
Everybody knows that other clubs are rorting and there is no investigation done. that's leading from the back by the NRL
It's only when whistle blowers say something that anything is done.
For me the NRL administration has no leadership and the game is becoming boring.
It's not a protest as such but as a Parra fan I figure it can't hurt to turn your back on the NRL.
Remember the fans are what drive the revenue in the game. Parra fans are in the top 3 supported clubs.
So if the NRL is on and you are bored switch off, go outside look at a bug or a tree or play with yourself..
At least those buggers who are ruining the game won't be making a profit of me on non Eels games.
PS. Boycott Origin.

Refs are also ruining the game, last year I went to over 40 NRL games (lucky I'm still married) and I thought the refereeing was bad, this year is a lot worse and I refuse to go to NRL games other than the Eels.
I usually watch AFL on the TV but this year I went to my first AFL game and really enjoyed it. Go the Swans!
GWS, swans darby should be good this year, it's in june 3rd vs 4th
I have to admit watching the eels play, the weekend just past, was not a priority of mine and that's the first time I've had that attitude. I was not home but I normally try and find a telly to watch that game but I just decided to watch a reply after I got home. First time ever in my entire life that I wasn't keen on watching the eels play.
The name calling was probably okay, he just doesn't want to acknowledge that other clubs are also at fault.
I cant disagree with anything you have said here. Effectively what has happened is the Parra brand has been so tarnished that the mere utterance of Parra now has people knowing us as the team that has done everything it could do to cheat and get away with it because this is exactly how it is portrayed to the public from the media. The damage is done.
The NRL should have had some brains an stopped the leaks about the leaks but they didn't. And what is the result of the NRLs stupidity?. They have effectively destroyed NRL in one of the biggest nurseries in the country. The team that cheats will be with the Parra brand for years ,possibly decades with every win we have on the field open to speculation as to how we are cheating the cap this time. And again it is going to happen for years. And honestly as a player I would not like the idea of playing in a environment where the team you are playing for are considered perennial cheats.
I think the problem for Parra is who wants to stay and play for Parra and who is going to be stupid enough to agree to play in such a environment.
The NRL has effectively done what they believe is the right thing. And it is the right thing. But it still stands to reason that many other clubs are rorting the system and the NRL are not interested in them, The referees are pitiful and actually destroy the quality of the game in most cases and are a big reason why you cant get the large crowds at the game. After all who wants to see 4 buffoon's referee a game. Of course the NRL have magically found a sideline adjudication team that at most times is even more stupid then the 4 buffoons' on the field.
The NRL is a brand also. It is actively destroying its national brand and this is seen in the crowd sizes and the amount of money they need from sponsors to keep it afloat .Their representatives on the football field are in most cases pitiful and I cant even watch their incompetence on the TV. And all the speculation about other teams rorting the system and the NRL are not even making a statement about this speculation one way or the other shows that they have no plan or idea on how to promote the NRL as a contest where all teams are considered equal in the eyes of the NRL.And of course the players managers who have their own agendas. Simply put the NRL is actively promoted by the media as a competition where speculation is rife of salary cap rorting and that is the image that the NRL have.
Thank god we have aussie rules, soccer and union in the Parra district to keep us entertained until this scandal passes from living memory because that is how damaging it has been.
NFL, but it's the off season.
As bad as it gets, I'll never give up on the footy, especially the Eels!! It's in my blood.
