Its not the hookers its the

Everyone that has been bagging out M Keating and whoever else goes into hooker is wrong, it is not the slowness of the hooker its the speed of the play the ball. you saw the slow play the balls, like the first set we gained fairly low metres even with robson at hooker but when players like tahu, hayne and inu came in and did a few quick play the balls we were getting heaps of metres every run from dummy half. I believe it is not matt keating being slow it is the big tired forwards doing slow play the balls that slows us down.

Just like to mention that im glad we are actually pressuring the opposition kickers and making it hard for them. i have been saying it all year that players have lacked getting up and pressuring them but tonight players like cayless, b smith and mateo shut thurston down alot and didnt allow him to run or pull of too many good kicks.

  • That's very true. Tahu, Hayne and Inu tend to play the ball very quick. Hayne sometimes takes a long time when he's hit hard to try get a penalty but that's normal since most players do that.
  • Spot on
  • Speed is only one aspect of what a Hooker should offer. His direction from dummy half, vision, kciking, support and D all play a part. he's a good footballer, but when you have 2 rookie halves and a running fullback trying to play like a halfback you need a "better than good hooker". MK is not better than good. I have never bagged him in the past but he doesn't dsereve the number 1 hooking spot.
