I have three kids. They’re like most kids. They scream. They tantrum. On occasions they’ve been known to hurl projectiles through the air.
However, if there is one thing I’ve learnt about dealing with kids, it’s that no matter how much they scream, tantrum or throw objects you don’t fold to their demands.
When things aren’t going well, there are clearly individuals at Parramatta who also have a tendency to tantrum. The fact that two coaches have now lost their jobs amidst accusations of having lost the dressing room or divided administration, is not a good look. In fact, it’s plain awful.
It’s for that reason that Ricky Stuart is the right appointment. If things go sour under Stuart, there’s simply no where else left to turn. You can’t blame inexperience. You can’t point to other coaches on the market who have achieved more or have higher standing in the game. If Parramatta can’t achieve some stability under Stuart, the entire place needs to be burnt to the ground and re-built from scratch.
As such, it’s time for everyone at Parramatta to fall in under Stuart. And I mean everyone. The board, the management, the players and the fans. Even if we’re in exactly the same position in two years time, we need to allow Stuart to see out his contract and be given his full-term to establish his authority come what will. Players need to be told this. Fans need to be told this. RICKY STUART WILL SEE OUT HIS CONTRACT REGARDLESS OF THE RESULTS.
Quite simply, we can’t keep doing this. We can’t continue to propagate a culture where by, when things go bad, we simply yell and scream, hurl projectiles and chase the easiest target out of town. And then repeat ad infinitum. Because as any parent knows when you give in to tantrums, all you are guaranteeing is more tantrums.
So suck it up Parramatta. Regardless of your thoughts of Stuart prior, he’s here and our fate mus be tied to his over the next three years. We need to be unforgiving in terms of commitment to the cause and at the first sign of aggravation, the axe should fall and people should be told to move on unless they are willing to back Stuart 100 per cent.

fair points Phil, Ricky was the only one to turn to in our situation, imo, he is without a doubt the best man out of the ones available to hire for the job...
He brings to the table great passion n drive and a great knowledge of the game, im not saying he willhave a magic wand to wave around, but i think next year he can start to install some new values n hunger n belief to our team.....
i dont know what we would have done if we didnt get him, he was a total must for us atm....

Bellamy is nothing without his wrestling , his big 3. (was4) but if the storm followed the salary cap like most clubs he wouldn't have had that luxury for all those years,and 1 off the ruck hit ups which are now being found out , his methods are old and that's what Kearney followed in his coaching.
Meninga isn't a coach , his assistants run the team , the players play to there strengths
Bennett is past it now , he got the players he wanted before he got there , no excuses now and Newcastle are going backwards
Hasler, well I'd say he has instilled confidence in a once diabolical team, barba is on fire , the forwards are turning into ball players but as parra showed you get up in there faces early in first few tackles they start to fluster and make errors, a good attacking side would have put them to the sword easier than we would ATM
Flanagan has got a few players playing to there ability , with or without carney and gallen they win and easily lose also, smith is they key , he misses a game or has off day the sharks play shit
Griffin , well the jury is still out , Parker needs to stay fit , they are going backwards a lil also
Eels need to stay injury free as much as possible , play to win each week
I'm looking at top 8. , following year when Stuart signs a few players we will be top 4

I FULLY AGREE & I would also add that as fans, we need to get over the Player adulation syndrome & focus on the TEAM. Any Player who spits the dummy, regardless of who he is, should be immediately rostered into Wenty along with those players who r not performing so that all the other members of the playing squad know that performance on the field is the Criteria for reward & respect.
Well said Phil - I have my thoughts and theories about Ricky and will keep them to myself for the time being - some good and some not so good. The REAL question - will Ricky be the right FIT for Parra?
Based on how POORLY Parra have performed under the "quieter" types like hagan and SK compared to much better results under more "fiery" type coaches like Smith and DA - Ricky certainly seems to be a much BETTER FIT
You are right to point out the possibility of a fractured player group / dressing room etc and that the ROT must stop. Parra have finally backed themselves into a corner of NO ESCAPE & MUST hitch their fortunes to Stuart for the LONG HAUL - RS, I believe is a strong enough personality to combat such in-cohesiveness by either showing "rotten eggs" the door or to inspire them to be "Leaders" - some of the best trouble makers and rebellious personalities can make GREAT captains - even though they were lousy team mates - history shows this time and time again - particularly in war time eg, soldiers that are extraordinarily brave when in a life or death situation are littered with "rebellious type personalities"
Once thing is for sure SK had to go - you simply cannot lose the dressing room as a Head Coach (if the stories are said to be true)
I made mention of this in earlier posts - just how massive an impact will the DECISION to re-sign Hayne be? and if Hayne (that's IF IF IF) Hayne is the trouble maker - is he really worth mortgaging OUR future on - cause Parra will pay OVER on the OVERS price to keep him and our Salary Cap ability to resign existing players and /or attract others WILL suffer as a result - Will Hayne be WORTH IT by then is the question ? - so the Ricky & Hayne dynamic will be interesting to watch unfold
And for the good news - surely Parra can do no worse with Ricky Stuart than they did SK - now how about that for optimism
2013 will be a huge year for the Eels and Mr Stuart. It's my opinion that this side needed to hit rock bottom and also my opinion that is where the team is at the moment. I have little doubt that the Eels will fail to make the top 8 in 2013 and to be honest, I think that will make them stronger in 2014 and beyond. I think Stuart will find many weaknesses in the 2013 roster and it will take him 2 to 3 years to put the right side together.
1 thing that I am sure of is Mr Stuart will bring real PRIDE & PASSION back to the Eels. Players will play at there best, for themselves, the club and the fans. He won't put up with crap. He will be the boss, and if the players don't like it his way, they will be gone...No matter who. Ricky will be hard and tough.
I myself, will back Ricky 100%, I have no doubt he is the man for the job, and he will get the job done.
I hope I am wrong, but I think we were playing the complete wrong style of footy under SK and this tem is going to have a stack of mental scars in close matches for a while.
If Stuart for some reason fails, then you would have to look at the players.
Might have to move some of them on instead the coach. I think Stuart will strategically buy players he knows he can trust or can mould, not (big heads or problem players).. to do the job.
oh believe me, i will still find a way to bag him if he doesnt improve the team.
Im still not over the DA sacking, and not sold on ricky, especially for 800k per season
