People are hypocrits, some more than others, Paul Kent says on NRL 360 it is not right to bully on social media, yet on his triple MMM show with Hoops and Tallis they absolutley gave it to Anthony Maroon as they normally do and Maroon finally snapped.
The big quip with Maroon is he does a lot of MC work for various functions, the boys mock it as cash in hand jobs that aren't declared to tax office, Maroon denies it but says he does functions, constantly on sly is like this person is suffering from this there is a fundraiser coming up blah blah, Hoops and Kenty would then say "Another cash job?". Banter one may say, others may say Maroon needs to harden up. What i will say is some people just do not handle it better than others, if one asks you to stop you must stop, Hoops, Kenty and Tallis acted like school children bullying the quiet kid at school. I find it funny how they mention the fans were wrong for abusing JA, when they do it themselves to another person. Granted Anthony Maroon is not a football player and is not a teenager like JA, however footballer or not the main qualm with knocking JA is "He is a person", well Maroon is a person also, it was childish and disrespectful after he asked them to stop what they were doing.
I want to know what others think, of the situation, not Hoops, Tallis and Kenty as i know 98% of people hate all of them as media personalities. For me, i do not mind Maroon, at first i did not like him that much as i found him to be self centred, but the more i listened the more i liked him, i think Ginnane is much better radio personality, spoiler and unpopular opinion Ginnane to me is the best voice in league at the moment period in my view, but Maroon is very good also at commentary. Hope he is able to get out this fine with no hard feelings.
If you can, look up the audio it is bad to listen to, a man who is fed up pleading for what is hurting him to stop and having it fall on deaf ears, not acceptable.

Maroon used to be on the local one down here in the Gong and he's not a bad bloke . Have attended fundraisers with him and it was very much above board. In fact I know 100% he did plenty free of charge with Camp Quality Convoy for Kids in fact he fucking started the Illawarra Convoy for kids , it's raised over 20 million bucks. What's that flog Hooper done ?. That's probably why he's pissed , because he doesn't charge for plenty. He was also involved with a few Jnr footy ones which he also donated his time.
Do you not think clubs and fundraisers would go out of their way to thank him for donating his time if he was taking cashies off them ? I'd be pissed too if I was doing shit for free in my time for charity and some fucktard like Hooper was accusing me of taking money from charities .
Again , Maroons idea of starting a convoy in Wollongong has raised over 20 million bucks , not to mention how many other copycat convoys run each year accross the country raising millions. The thing is he's not one to brag about what he does for charity . It still runs today 22 years later .
Well Maroon brought up on air how he picks Hoops up every weekend for the show and that Hoops has not had his licence for 3 years, also says he always picks him and Tallis up from a Sydney pub when they are hammered, so Hoops is not so innocent, added he mentions Tallis is off in QLD due to COVID and cannot appear in shows in Sydney, yet is out and about in QLD.
So that is why Wiz it seems Maroon took it so seriously as he feels like he is helping people and being made fun of for it, if he says its charity they just laugh at him.
Though Wiz, not sure if it was taking money off charities, more so he just put his hand up for any MC gig going around to make a quick buck. So what? who cares, as long as he does a good job at it then so be it, we are all human, all offer a service and should be paid accordingly, commentators usually are MC's at functions so nothing new he is doing. If he wants to earn money on the side, as long as it is not illegal, good on him.
I'm just saying LB, many of the gigs he takes is actually for charities. So by Hooper implying he's taking cashies , those who know what his schedule involves or see him doing a charity event could be led to believe he's actually taking money from them in the hand.
Oh definately Wiz, having something that you feel is rewarding made out to be criminal would do damage to your self esteem.
I thought it was Marty Haynes who started Convoy in the Illawarra. I lived in Canberra in the mid-90s when Marty was doing breakfast radio there for 104.7 and he was running the Convoy there since the early 90s. I assumed that he started doing it here when he moved from Canberra.
Agree, It crosses the line from being banter when they accuse him of repeatedly doing criminal activity over many years, on public radio, he did nothing to warrent it either, he didnt provoke anything.
He'd be worried about the tax man and being painted as dishonest, no doubt it would have got to him.
And here kent is, bagging people for saying a kid shouldnt be in 1st grade, as i was saying yesterday, jounos are some of the most unethical people around.

I did listen to the segment when Maroon walked out out, you could tell he was distressed it came it through his voice - I've turned off triple m for a while now but on Sunday did turn on. Maroon unfortunately is the centrepiece of running jokes on air for years especially from Kenty - I've meet Maroon and I can say from personal experience his a true gentleman, great family man and we'll respected amoungst people of every walk of life. I was that concerned I even tried to call the radio station but then sent an email. Kenty the clown has not once this week addressed the issue! Kenty you opinionated piece of shit man up and explain how you went too far! I don't use the word bullying or hassement lightly it been happening for a long time - I'm no Hadley fan I'm glad his his had the guts to call out these clowns that should be made accountable.
I've listened to this show for ages and this has been a running gag. But they don't just say it to Maroon, Girdler and Tallis cop similar stuff. And Maroon gives as good as he gets on this show. Maroon has never before given any impression it's anything more than banter at his end.
I struggle to believe that this is the real reason Maroon walked off. There must be something else going on and he's used this as a reason or excuse. Maroon seems like a good bloke but there is something else going on here for sure.
Look we all have banter, with my mates i have banter to and have things said with me that i am a bit not overly pleased with being said but laugh about it, if someone says they don't like it, you stop. Whether it is banter or been happening for a long time, whether it has happened for 5 mins or 5 years once that person says stop you stop.
But i also agree Michael that there is more behind the scenes that we do not know, apparently he sent emails to head office to no avail. Obviously due to the fact that those he is complaining about are higher profile then him, yet he is the host and is known. It is like if you make a complaint against Fletch and Hindy on Matty Johns show, they are a draw card so it'll be "move along, nothing to see here".
