Thinking about Tamou to Eels to me seems if though it could in fact come into fruition for the 2014 season. There is multiple evidence suggesting that this is a real possibility.

1. Ricky Stuart has publicly stated through the media that he is a huge fan of Tamou and originally enticed the front rower to play for NSW.

2. We have more than 20 players off contract at the end of the 2013 season, more than 5 of them being front rowers.

3. The recent addition to the Eels squad, Kenny Edwards, is Tamous' cousin and it is evident that this is a recruitment ploy by the club in recent memory (ie. John Folau, Esi Tonga, Joey Lussick, Blake Harrison just to name a few)

4. Ken Crapper even though the jury is out on him, recently stated in a post "Welcome to the club, Jimmy..."

5. The Cowboys will struggle to re-sign all of their players for the 2014 season with Tamou, Scott, Thurston, Bowen, Johnson and Tate all being free-agents at the end of the 2013 season.

I will add more evidence as it comes. What are your thoughts on this topic?

  • Are we becoming a family club?

  • The Ken also said in one his more recent posts... "Welcome to the club, Jimmy..."

    • I remember reading somewhere Kenny referring to Sonny Bill Williams as Sonny Jim.

  • No way would we fit him in the cap, he would be asking for around 500k,     hoppa - 500k, hayne 500k+,  folou 500k+ sandow 400-500k.          no chance mate

    • Dont forget we have quite recently lost some highly paid players.

      - Hindmarsh $400k

      - Poore $400k

      -  Shackleton $300k

From 2013 on we won't have a share in Mortimers, Tahus or Shacks contract.

  • I wish. The guy is a machine. The minutes and metres - oh I think I just got a semi eri!

The Cowboys have apparently allocated percentages of the salary cap to players such as Thurston, Scott and Tamou. They will try everything within their power not to lose them.
  • This would be f*cking amazing, I hope so much that this happens!

  • Poore was 350k reportedly and I heard Shack was on only about 180k
Hindy probably was on 400k, but hes long service discounts that could bring him down to 300k.

Sandow might get shipped out if he doesnt improve, which could free up 300-400k cap space, and the cap could also rise another 500k or more if the players assosciation and clubs get their way

  • Na Poore was on 370k, i remember Shacks signed for 220k .....he defo didnt come for 180, he was playing great guns for roosters and highly rated at the time. Hindy was on around 400k - 100k long serving player discount. so thats around 900k total.

  • Plus Casey McGuire who you would think only came back from the English Super League where he went for the money for more money from Parra.  A pension fund if you like.

Also Luke Burt, but he wasn`t on huge coin but it all adds up. What about Jordan Aitkens, is he still with us or did we let him go too ?  Surely that`s gotta be atleast around 1 and a half million we are saving from those guys all leaving. ???

"Great stuff HOE. This needs to be emailed to every board member. The stats are rather sobering.
Bad luck is the 50/50 calls go against you the bulk of the time. Dropping balls, poor kick chase, or throwing the ball over the sideline, isn't bad…"
