IS THE WET WEATHER AN ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGE?

It seems more than likely that we will be getting some rain on Sunday for the GF. If this is the case, does a heavy, wet ground suit us more or the Storm?Presumably heavy rain will mean it should be a low scoring game. Therefore, the better defensive side should prevail. Or, you can look at it as the team that is prepared to have a go in the wet and hopefully put on a couple of tries will be victorious.Players like Hayne, Slater and Inglis like a dry, fast field. It could be more of a game for Moi Moi, Grothe, White etc...Interested in your thoughts...

  • It's a massive disadvantage to us. Our offloading is screwed now. It will be much more risky and we will make more errors. However I believe we can still win by 10.
  • I don't know that wet weather will automatically disadvantage us. Wet weather tires the forwards out quicker, makes it harder to hold on to payers in tackles. With the way our fast blokes hit the line, the line breakers we've got and the bigger Storm pack suffering more from tiredness it could very well work for us. We won't stop trying the off loads - percentages say some will stick. Provided the extra errors don't cost us too much, I think it could make the boys even more unpredictable. Storm are more likely to change their game plan much more than us for the weather conditions.
  • Yeah, wet weather advantages Melbourne because they will play conservatively like they always do, whereas our offloading sprees will be tenfold more riskier and we'll make more errors.
  • David is 100 % right
  • Ive been worried about the weather since Monday...........Its gonna rain and Im resigned to that fact now.

Anyways, It will no doubt affect our game moreso than theirs

Been driving through Parramatta all morning the City is buzzing and there is a real good vibe.....It just has a feeling that its meant to be and my attitude now is

Fuck it....Rain, Hail or Shine we will not dissapoint
  • Wet weather can be the great equaliser. If it rains, then it will be a really interesting game to watch.
  • Ur all looking into it to much, rain or no rain who ever plkays hardest and smartest (kicking game) will win. I will back our chances either way, think we got a great mentality at moment
  • Sure, the rain won't help us but what it will do is make it an extremely tight game. A dropped ball here and a chip kick there. If Storm were favourites it almost brings it back to 50-50.
  • i reckon we will be disadvantaged, because our offloading ability will be hindered. But, DA has coached the Warriors and St. Helens, where it always rains, so im sure he has good wet weather game plans!!
    • Well said, relieves the nerves a bit
