It appears that this is another channel 9 wicket. i.e so match can go 5 days and they can get all the high priced ads in. Similar to late starts in NRL so they can get there ads in. The power of the paying broadcasters.

I reckon youre spot on KG.
No, this one is turning and it has more pace and bounce than Melbourne. There will be a result weather permitting. The MCG was a disgrace.
in any event, ch9 pays big dollars for the rights, so of course they want value for their investment. Nothing wrong with that.
They also look after the Broncos. Imagine if this match finished in 3 days.
They don’t “look after” the Broncos. The Broncos are comfortably the strongest rating team in the NRL, of course they’re gonna want to show them all the time. That happens on pro sports the world over.
I believe broadcasters should pay the rights to broadcast only. Not dictate to the particular sports about schedules or anything else related to the sport. This should be left up to the governing body controlling the sport.
The more they pay the more control they want. And rightly so.
Hope channel 9 is paying you well
It’s just common sense Kerry. I don’t know why you don’t get it.
Isn't the NRL scheduling the games under the new arrangement?
Officially they are now, but you can bet your arse Nine & Fox will still have a big say. The only difference is that now the NRL can overrule the networks, but for the most part they’ll still give Nine in particular most of what they want.
