Do you think will affect them this weekend with the Warriors game? do you think the media are putting to much pressure on the boys to perform?just want some thoughts on it guys?

  • Good point mate, i was just thinking that before.
Reading that nonsense from the telegraph makes me feel kinda nervous.
  • It's certainly a change from the treatment we received from the media earlier in the year!!

All we can do is rely on DA to keep the players heads straight. We have a good mix of experience and youth so they should be able to balance the hype with the need to keep winning.

The attitude of the players has been great lately and let's hope they keep having fun and playing to the potential we all know they have.
    • I agree
  • In another article, DA spoke about defense - specifically that of Reddy and Grothe. He noted that Penrith (read Jennings) did a job on both of them a few weeks ago, and they followed up with an indifferent performance against the Titans.

He then said something I found very interesting. He stated that the players needed to self-evaluate and take the requisite steps to improve. I am very impressed with his approach - he seems to be taking on a mentoring role to some of these blokes in a way Wayne Bennett is regarded for.

I don't think its any coincidence that Inu has started playing football, Grothe's mistake rate is almost non-existant this season compared to last, Reddy has become a class centre, Mortimer has taken the step from Under 20's to NRL AND taken his game to a new level within 8 weeks, and Hayne has transformed from a spoilt prima-donna to a leader of men.

Yeah, I think DA can keep these blokes heads' in check for the next 4 weeks. My only concern is that we'll be playing equally desperate teams in Tigers and Penrith in the next few weeks and won't have it all our own way as we did against the Sharks and Knights. We'll need to step up again to beat these teams before facing mighty St George.
