It's easy to lay the blame on Brad Arthur but to what extent should the board be blamed for the current predicament we find the club in?
They were the ones who rewarded Brad Arthur and Mitchell Moses extensions after neither had really set the world on fire at the club.
The board has set a bad example here and made failure acceptable within the club.
The re-signing of Moses and Arthur has really left a sour taste in my mouth and now I'm dreading more players like Jennings being offered new contracts.
Are these really the people we need to take the club forward? For me they have failed and it's time for them to move on.

The clubs certainly been through some lows in the last 10 years but none as low as where it's at now.
What blokes on here wanted in on the board?
Fong you know precisely it was not that simple. At all. In fact Sharp and co called in the administrator. Because the club was broken. Via these laughable elections you’re so desperate for there is zero talent available to do what needs to be done. Fitzy again? 3P again? Good luck with that.
You always mention a need for a big hitter to come in and revolutionise the club but you never mention who or how. Until you do, you’re merely stating fanciful thoughts. Maybe you should jump in and put your hand up....whoever you actually are.
Frankie, yes Sharp was the final nail that started to be hammered in the last throws of the 2000's with the emperor and Spags, thing is that you have missed the simple fact that the appointment of Max had nothing to do with the clubs board by themselves, rather it was the State Government along with the Liquer and gaming association that appointed him as administrator to get the club back on its feet.
If the previous board hadn't cheated the cap we would have been as mediocre in 2016 as we are now. That 2016 side was a top five defensive side that year. Just like the handful of other clubs who cheat the cap. The difference is they usually don't get caught because they don't have entire factions of backstabbers hanging around the club trying to bring them down so they can take over.
Frankie, agree mate, and we are basically saying the same thing but differently. The turmoil of those last few years of Fitz's rule, then Spags, along with the ineptness of them with the cheating and subsequent legal issues, the sacking of the board etc was the direct result of the cheating, as a result the board was dismissed and Max appointed to run the club as a result. The lead up that caused those election losses and Sharp coming in, may in a sense not be directly their fault but each one had a part to play as the crap unfolded.
With the cheating uncovered and fraud squad, liguer and gaming getting involved there was the need to get rid of those who had caused it, and the club was placed under administration with Max being appointed by the firm the government appointed for the investigation, IIRC it was Ferriors Hodson or something. As administrator it was Max's job to get the club headed to a new constitution, board etc. but we both know that the meetings have been stacked.
Correct me if I am wrong but before the meeting a month or so back you posted a blog supporting the reform and for members to attend the meeting, it and the subsequent meeting rolled the vote and Max has to work on it still. he wants out and has said so on the public record
Mate you don’t know what you’re talking about.
The govt stepping in had everything to do with the last board Col lol
You were the guy back then defending the board till the bitter end against all common sense, i think your views might still be a bit skewed bro.
Snake, Interesting reply as I indicated that very point regarding the government stepping in and culminated with the appointment of Max as the administer, yet I got checked on that one.
As for the the other comments you partially right. I was ok with Sharp at first but certainly after the events unfolded it was more than obvious as to the fact they should have not been involved, As I also often have said after the Spags first year, I dropped my membership of both clubs and didn't renew until 3 years back.
Over that period I never ventured near the club nor to a game but only watched games on the box, I stunmbled on this site by accident and only here was I reading the saga as it unravelled and all the views from all the corners. That included areas of positives regarding Sharp himself and how he went to training to support the team and was open to supporters, others only launched personal attacks about him as a person which is something I don't agree with, & still don't.
It certainly became obvious when the issues became out prior to the media reports & the TPA's etc. I may not have been as close to the whole inside info stuff but on that score a heck of a lot of other supporters were in the same boat.
End of the day mate, this whole episode in the eels history is an utter disgrace and the fact that factions that existed back to the 60's and likely before with power brokers and self believers who saw the club as their domainion, still exist today still makes me sick. I still can remember my late father who was on the group that worked hard to get the eels into the competition talking of the board issues over the years, glad he is not around to have witnessed the events that we have seen for over 10 years now.
Absolutely they're to blame! They put Arthur into another 2+ years when it's obvious he was shouldn't have been. All these blokes care about is a their high paid salaries! They don't care about t he was resu l rd on the the field or a the Eels supporters. They're like car salesmen or corrupt politicians.
