Is Rothfield accusing Parra of rorting the Cap?

Phil Rothfield just said on ABC Radio. He was asked if other successful clubs were cheating the system.

"I'm aware that in the off-season, a very, very big name player was paid $50,000 cash (off the books) by a club sponsor to sign."

Jarryd Hayne was the biggest name player to resign over the off-season, by far the biggest.

Is Rothfield accusing us of cheating? He does fancy himself as being aware of everything that happens in the club.

He says he can't report on it because he hasn't got the document and would be sued for defamation.

  • Doubt it..... journalists can and will say whatever they like when speaking in general terms.

Parra would be one of teh least likely teams to chaeting the cap given that there has been a chang of baord and CEO.
    • I hope your right mate.
I don't think thats Ozzies game not in his character well here is hoping.
  • I think he was talking about petero civinoceva, he has a very big name.
  • On his Daily Telegraph blog people keep asking him to name the clubs cheating or shut up. He won't name anyone for legal reasons.
