Is Peats in line to play Origin 2

With Farah being injured I guess they are looking at Hinchcliffe and Rein as potential replacements.

I wonder how far down the list Peats is.

For Parra's sake I don't want him to play but if I was NSW coach I'd be definitely considering him.

  • Sure, but what about for Peats' sake?

    (sorry, couldn't help myself)

Seriously though, I hope he does play origin. His form and attitude warrant selection. I reckon he'd be brilliant and if he doesn't cop an injury, it will take him and us to new heights.
  • Apparently Michael Ennis is also in strong contention. He has previous Origin experience and could give an edge over QLD, with the way he likes to annoy the opposition.

We have no chance of making the finals if we lose Peats to Origin. His backup (IDG) is still out injured, leaving us with no replacement for hooker. I was looking at the draw earlier today and I reckon we'll need to be on 30 points to make the top 8. That factors in our terrible for and against. So yeah, we need to win 9 from the next 12. Can we do that if we lose one of our best players in Peats?

    • Ennis?? The guy is well past it. Wouldn't surprise me if they pick the grub considering how clueless Daley is.
    • Ennis has Rothfield and other media people pushing his name for selection so no doubt he will get it
    • I've heard Ennis as well. I can see why. He's got Origin experience, he niggles and can unsettle the QLDers. I don't think he's really in the form he should be to play Origin but by the same token, would it be wise to throw Peats into the cauldron needing to win to keep the series alive?

    • Hey GP. You know how I try to be positive about our team, but I think hopes of the 8 are well and truly diminishing now. Realistically a final tally of 22 to 24 points is what I expect. Even that might put me in the optimistic category!
  • It should at least make the game more entertaining with Ennis playing ;)

SMH reckons it's between Rein and Ennis. I read stuff about Ennis elsewhere - not just making it up.

  • Last year - Yes. This year - No. His form has been average.

  • Hinchcliffe I'm guessing will get it. I hope he knows where the oppositions try line is. Did everyone see him play the ball in the wrong direction. The look on smiths face was gold.
  • They will pick the st George hooker I don't know hes name but that's the one they will pick I think

Assistant coach to Craig Bellemy pretty much means piss boy to the head coach. It's a little too familiar. The Storm arrogance without Uncle Craig in charge. Gomer Ryles got out in spades
