People on hear that know better than I do don't like the idea but I've always thought that Carty would do good there.

I meant more in the sense that Lane has missed most of this year. Papa on the left in his place, instead of Davey, would have been a beter idea.

Papalii back would be great, lane and Papalii on the edges with Cartwright off the bench. Cartwright has had his best season ever and deserved a starting spot but if lane and Papalii are at their best Cartwright would be great off the bench. I would move matterson on if that's what it takes to get Papalii back.
HKF, I love Papa but he is not edge forward. His lateral defence is poor which showed badly in his last dozen games with us.
The reason Papa has been a relative failure at Wests is they played him as an edge, HUGE mistake cannot emphasise it enough, hopefully if he comes back this becomes understood. Moving Matterson on would be stupid and if we manage to get Papa back then he has to be part of the front row rotation which means we would have to offload Offie (poor bastard). This would leave us with the current middles plus Emu and then the depth?
I am wondering only when saying this but I would love Papa's defence in the middle of the ruck where our hookers miss numerous tackles, could he learn to play dummy half, he does have ball skills?
