IS Konrad Hurrell worth a second look

Solomone Kata and Tuimola Lololea are likely to be the first choice centre pairing for the Warriors this year. Is Hurrell worth consideration?- He has previously been given permission to negotiate with other clubs and if BA could get him fit and keep his mind on the job, he could be a good pick up especially if the Warriors paid part of his salary

  • I think hurrell should definately be in the warriors first pick line up but if his on the outer then i think his definately worth looking at!
  • He's fast, and strong.

His defence isn't too crash hot though, and if The Warriors are looking to offload him it probably has something to do with discipline or attitude.

I certainly wouldn't slit my wrists if we signed him - but I can't see it happening.

    • Yep, great attacker when he gives a fuck, but even then his defence is poor.

  • It's very hard to lure players from NZ once they've established themselves in the NYC let alone first grade, it would take a lot of money to get him across.

  • Nope. Looks like he'd be too hard to keep motivated. He also looks like the type that would get homesick very quickly. Big NO from me.
  • Hurrell will start for the Warriors, I reckon.

RTS, Kata, Hurrell, Lolohea & Vatuvei would be the back-line I'd go with for them.

But yes, if he ever became available and we needed a centre, I'd like to see the club make a play for him. I rate Hurrell and he's ripping in this off-season to steel himself for the season ahead .

    • Hurrell is the most destructive back line player in the comp (apart from Inglis, who is more consistent but not more destructive). You would be bonkers not to consider him. I right side would be as potent as our left in attack with him in the line up.
  • And Jono Wright.

  • If Ayshford plays anywhere, it is at centre, which would see Lolohea move to five-eighth - a position he's more than capable of playing.
But that then moves Leuluai to hooker, which he is adept at also.

A lot of interesting options there for the Warriors but McFadden would be crazy to not play Hurrell, especially as reports suggest he's fitter than ever and determined to maintain a regular spot in the centres.

  • I'd gladly take him at the Eels if the opportunity ever became available, Johnny.
