Is Jayden Brailey better than Hands or Lussick?

Keen to see people's comments on whether Brailey could be a better option than Hands. Looks as though he is well down the hooker pecking order at the Knights. He is also a Sydney (Shire) boy. Might be a good swap, seeing as Matt Arthur is going there to play under his dad's bestie.

  • Good player, VERY injury prone

    • Watched him played against Soufs. Played full 80 mins without a problem. His service from dummy half was top notch and he didn't mind a scoot every now and then. He is head and shoulders above both Hands and Lussick. Hope Ryles has a crack at him because Knights looking to free up cap space. Eels could do with his service. His brother was brilliant for the Sharks against the Dragons, close to best on field. Both brothers play very similar style.

  • knights are paying $550k per season currently (according to Zero Tackle) and with Salary cap issues themselves. reminds me a little of Matt Keating.

  • Hands is a perfectly fine first grade level 9/14. Garlik will be a good addition too, between them I think we are covered there. By all reports Ryley Smith is going ok, I think we are relatively wel covered there and I expect Ryles to make Guymer learn the role.
I think Lynn will work his way into a 14 role over the next 2 years too.

Big no on Brailey UNLESS he takes minimum wage and plays NSW cup

    • Hands  has been terrible thought he would of been a lot better Brailey is miles ahead of him

    • Hands is average.

We will not succeed if we keep relying on guys like Hands and Lussick at 9.

We need a quality hooker to start next season or it will be another spoon battle for us.

      • BEM, going to be controversial here. Lussick needs to be moved on. Hands has talent, and the Panthers were pissed when we took him. Here it comes. Did he not get the required level of coaching as a hooker because of BA's investment in his sons? Just as we saw with Jake.  Yep, I said it. Could Hands be coached to improve now that the conflict between coach and family is removed? Just asking the question?

        • Very likely.

        • It's definitely a valid point EE.

The only counter to that is at one stage, we had Mick Innes here coaching our hookers and that didn't seem to help Hands much.

I would be very happy if we signed a quality hooker, played Hands at 14 and sent Lussick packing.

          • Boods arthur was in the picture since age 12 mate, hence they moved Mahoney on and had our best 9 hands filling in reserve grade at 6.

"Thanks EA and PT.
Key here is identifying and keeping a group of talent together for as long as possible.
Keep moving them up through the grades and getting that transference."
