Is Jarome Luai worth going after?

Greetings all! I'm new to this site and this is my 1st post. Love him or hate him, Jarome Luai's combination with Mitch Moses for NSW was electric. Imagine those two being our halves combination.

  • There are a couple things to consider.

First, his asking price. Could we get him for a price we'd be happy with and allow us to build a squad and retain players we need to.

Second is whether he fits the culture Ryles is trying to build. Ryles is setting the expectation you play for the badge. If you don't, you're out the door.

Third is how he would work with Moses. We saw the pair perform well in Origin last year. But 2 games is a lot different to the week-to-week grind of NRL. Luai has previously stated he wants to be the man and that's why he left Penrith. I don't think he'd want to be second fiddle to Moses until Mitch retires.

I just don't think Luai is the type of player we'd be going after. I'd be hesitant to go after a guy who ditches a club barely a year after signing with them.

  • Yes for the right sum

  • I'd take him for sure and Parra would have a very good shot at getting him too , no chance in hell Jarome would be happy at the tigers so I'd have no doubt that if the right club came along he would take up his get out clause.

Money wise I think Jerome would accept a bit less to go to better club with better prospects and Parramatta would be a perfect fit for him in every way .

    • Cmon Frankie Luai's agent pulls MoNs pants down everyday of the week. He's not taking less to come here.

      • No doubt having proven dopes like Mark O'Neill and Jim Sarantonis puts Parramatta at a huge disadvantage as has been proven  , but if Jerome is unhappy at the tigers and wants to join a club with better prospects then he knows he will have to take a bit of a pay cut .

He either stays at s shithole with zero prospects for the future purely for money or he goes to a club with some prospects for success and takes a couple of hundred less , he will also have more opportunities for private sponsorship playing for a big club like Parramatta than at the tigers .

        • Imagine how much MON would throw at Luai if he was willing to throw half a mil at Blaise T , the best part of a mil at Galvin and threw 650k plus at Silva .

Luai will be the games first 2 mil a year signing.

          • Sarantonis and O'Neill are the big problems at the club , they have zero to offer and have zero to offer in terms of making Parramatta a attractive club .

Since Sarantonis and O'Neill joined the club in 19  nothing has changed year on year  when it comes to  Parramatta being turned into a attractive club for players to join .

    • Knowing MON, he'd probably try and sign the clubs license over to Luai to get him to sign

  • NO

  • Man most of you fans are so clueless, Luai's hunger to win and paired with moses will make us a champion side. Saying no to a 4x winner is a joke most of us fans are jokes and clueless. He is the player ryles will want on our side, when the going gets tough he stands up.
