The analogy by many on a few certain websites including Facebook & 1ee, are advertising Brad Arthur as a master coach, deeming the Eels being in the 8 for the majority of the season & without one Origin player, as a masterstroke
They are comparing teams like Stgeorge, who have 3 and 4 Origin stars, & are sitting 13th on the ladder, also saying that we made the top 4 without an Origin rep.
Does this analysis have legs. I'm definitely not in the group who are pushing this view, but what do you think?

He's been here for how many years? I think we have all made up our mind by now.
I like BA and think he is better than the haters give him credit for. But on the other hand he is not a master coach. He is very strong in some areas and a bit weak in others. Would like to see a good assistant coach to cover his weaknesses. Don’t want to see him punted until we have someone better.

When he first came here he really fixed up our defence and took us from being a cellar dweller to a top eight club.
We don’t exactly have the best roster but we are a top eight side so he can’t be that bad.
Bottom line is that he is a good enough coach that you will lose your be with me
Well that is probably all that he is one of the best in but he is doing a slightly above average job in most areas and below average in a few.
Overall out of the 16 NRL coaches I would probably rate him around 5th to 7th
Player management??? Of a wooden spoon team with off field issues and continued issues on field over 6 years that obviously the players haven't bought in to fix ill say find another strength
Fixed up our defence???????? In 2014 we missed the finals becaause of a negative F/A. That was due to poor defence.
I am with you mate, but sadly the regular haters, those who will also choose from their book of 5 insults if you don't agree with them.........You know the one, he who can't be wong (sic). I like BA and he bleeds Blue and Gold and is harshly judged, but it seems on here it is much like the bully in the play ground, some would rather agree, rather than cop his wrath if they don't. I respect the right to an opinion, you know the old agree to disagree respectfully, others don't, they want chop you down, so they can feel like they are the enlightened ones.

Conscidering he fluffed his way to a 2 year contract extention after a 60 point drubbing, i dont think Brads words about fluffing wins carry any weight, Brads coach Fluffy.
Snake, B.A. might have been judged on previous wins rather than the inexplicable loss to Melbourne. We usually give a good account of ourselves against them.
Is this a view pushed by Eels fans or rival fans? Rival fans wouldn't know the in-depth mistakes that BA has made. My view hasn't really changed. We've overachieved so far and I think all Eels fans would take 8th spot after 12 rounds. Most thought we'd be bottom 4 heading into the season so BA deserves some credit. But we shouldn't be in this rebuilding phase and his emotion and misplaced loyalty has clouded his judgement. Only after 18 months of underperforming has he finally dropped those we all saw as dead wood long, long ago. And he still hasn't produced an alpha forward who can lead the way which I consider to be the biggest reason for our inconsistent performances.
