I could not help but but cheer for Josh Addo-Carr last night, as much as I cannot stand the storm I could not help myself but jump up and clap when he scored his 5th and then I was on the edge of my seat willing the 6th and it happened, it was a great moment in NRL history.

it made me think of all the great wingers we have seen, Grothe, Burt, Corowa, Morris, there's just too many to mention, and I thought Does this make him the best winger we have ever seen, he plays and stars for NSW and Australia, he's not just a finisher, he brings the ball back with gusto, and his defence is very good.

I have to say he is the best winger I have seen, lightning fast, I really wish he came to Parra instead of going to the Dogs, another team I do not like but I cannot deny how good he is.

Thoughts??

  • No , he is not even close .  Put him in a game where forwards can knock his block off with a concrete like shoulder charge and it all changes .   You can really only compare players to their era . These " all time " awards they hand out are flawed and shit just like the immortals garbage .

  • Why, because he scored 6? That's great he got 6 but many of those were gifts you or I could probably have scored. He's good, very fast, decent finisher but no, not the best ever.

  • Not in my opinion. Hayne was just as good if not better. Semi would have been if he stayed in the NRL. Ken Irvine was a good winger as well but different era.

    • It's a pity Hayne was so unappreciative of his talent . When he came back to us for that second stint . He really could've had one last bite of the cherry for a premiership.

      • I read Hayne's lawyer saying Hayne was about to take up a 500K offer from the Dragons.
Wpupd broader knowledge of Hayne again running out on the Eels, for a third time, have tempered our appreciation of him?

PS: a superior pun there too. LOL

        • I don't think the eels were going to make him an offer.

          • Yes Daz, Parra said they had no room for him, given cap restrictions. No need to be temperamental about  your appreciation of him, he is not the man of steel!

        • Daz , if we showed any interest of signing old chompers again I'd have collected up anything remotely blue and gold that rested within my 600 square metres of British conquered land and posted it to Paul Osbourne to sell on eBay .

  • Wait until he play behind the Doggies pack next year when he's on the receiving end

    • Spot on, Al. I agree JAC will write his own legacy based on what he does at the Dogs, a team clearly rebuilding and unlikely to challenge for the medium term
