By the look of all the signingings this off season it looks as though our club is saving there penny's for the following year of 2012, all our sigings have been small money and 1 to 2 year deals... the big rumours and the good 1's are SBW and Quade cooper from union.. we will have the the cash to throw at both of them in 2012 and retain players of contract....
It has been a poor off-season with signings and from a fans point of view a very dissapionting one.....We have a capable squad and they will be good if we can put it together and compete, its just hard to see us competeing with some of the squads on paper, hopefully all our big guns fire so when we do or if we do get these great rumoured sigingings they will be fighting for there positions in a side that has had a decent 2011....
bring on the 2011 with a champion team not a team of champions....... were gonna need to stand up this way!!!!

I am confident we will make the 8 and be a consistent team. I see us finishing around 5th but would love to make top 4.
Forget about teams on paper its what is put on the field. We have had the team on paper to win it probably 5 times or more since 1986 and yet we are still dry. I do no for a fact that the camp is pumped and confident and happy. The culture is good and we have a lot of experience in our squad.
I don't blame anybody for lacking confidence in our team after 2010 - it was the most frustrating season to watch in my time because of the expectation of winning the premiership. Now we have no expectation we can go out and surprise some teams.
Our forward pack will be relentless, one of the best in the comp, our backs have more experience when it comes to try scorers, Morts will be in for a good year, Hayne will be utilised better and will mature as a player and lead the way but this time around he will have a team supporting him because that is how Kearney will structure us.
We are all aware that our team is probably the fittest it has ever been at this point so if we get off to a great start we have every chance of making the top 4. I think everyone is overating the comp and underating our side. I am not expecting anything this season but secretly think we can make top 4 and will definitely be in the finals.
Hey who knows, we might even just win the comp.............we almost did in 2009 and this team is way better than that team so i don't know where the comments come from about us being worse.
Sure we still might need a better 7 etc but Kearney doesn't coach a team around a Thurston type 7 he makes everybody play together as a unit.

Because their forward pack were beasts (ours will be too) they played as a team (I am confident we will too) and their defence was solid as (ours will be too).
look at St George, they won with Hornby and Soward. Sure they have some other great players but Parramatta's squad can match theirs. It will come down to hunger, pride, unity and game plans with execution.
From what i am hearing kearney is restoring all of the above so just wait and see what this season will bring.
The biggest problem with Parramatta fans including myself at times is we EXPECT to win the premiership EVERY year. The year we least expect we WILL win and 2011 could be it who knows.
Don't write this team off - i think we are all in for a nice surprise.

Maybe you're not, but a lot of people are.
I know of at least several dozen people who all believe that the Eels will get the spoon next year, and I just tell them, 'You can think that all you like, but the signings that everyone believes are poor and won't perform, will pull off some surprises, just you wait and see'.
I have no doubt that they will.
I can provide a list of why each respective player in the team will perform considerably under Kearney, and there's no reason to suggest why they won't.
We have one of the best fullbacks in the game, as well as perhaps one of the best second-rowers of the modern era, mixed with youth and experience in other areas, so we're just as good as any other team regardless of what opposition supporters might say.
At the end of the day, when the season starts, it's a level-playing field.
Every team has the chance to make themselves heard, and to show what their capable of from the word go, and I think the Eels have the rejuvenated attitude, the firepower, and the attacking and defensive arsenal to do so.

I (very stupidly) have signed onto a couple of opposition sites as a Parra fan but really couldn't be bothered going back to them - this is the only site where people actually support their team.
Even when we say some of our players are shite we still support them.
In dogland they forget about their own just to stir people on other sites just to make themselves feel bigtime.
