Which would be smarter:
$2000 on Roosters at $1.05 (20:1)
$10 on Eels at $10 (1:10)?
Both would pay $100
back of envelop estimate of our chances of winning is about (1:33)
[Based on requiring half of below variables to be true
1. Roosters need to have an off day = 1:4
2. Eels need to kick most of our goals = 1:4
3. Eels need to make few errors and concede few penalties = 1:3
4. Defence out-wide has to be good, which considering new combinations = 1:2
5. Both Kelly and Toutai need to have decent games = 1:4
6. We need our two players out of our halves and outside backs to fire in attack = 1:3]
So unfortunately $2000 on the Roosters seems the better odds but I still reckon we will win tonight - just feels right.
