Inu or Reddy?

If, as seems most likely, for parramatta's first game of the season Tahu starts at centre then who should partner him as starting centre, Inu or Reddy? In some ways Inu is very similar to Tahu - evasive, quite big, strong and very talented (although Inu probably isn't as quick as Tahu).Reddy on the other hand is a completely different player to both. He is a consumate professional, excellent finisher, very good technical defender who won't let you down and will always put in 100%.So would you go for Reddy to complement what Tahu brings to the side or would you go for Inu to have out and out individual attacking threats on both sides of the ruck?

  • I'd go for Kris for a number of reasons. Firstly, I think he represents more of an attacking threat. Secondly, I think once Sharpy arrives and works on his defence, he'll be a better defender than Joel - who despite being technically very good, doesn't have the same build as Kris. People have talked about putting Kris back to the wing, but physically he's developed into a genuine centre and has that physically intimidating build Joel doesn't. I think Joel's a better winger and a better utility than Kris, so there are other places he can be put which brings more to the team. I think Kris is really on the verge of going to a new level. If he can stay injury free for a while, and with the mentoring of Timana - a good off-season to get back that yard a pace he was missing this year - I think he'll go back into that top bracket of centres. Kris also makes a lot of metres working the ball out of our own end as well.

I've always said that in your perfect roster you want at least one high-quality wingers who can also play centre when injuries hit - and that's exactly to me where Joel fits. It just so happens we've got two brilliant wingers as well, so I do think Joel's utility value is just going to mean that he's the extra man in the backline who shuffles about to fill in whoever is missing.
  • Yeah it is going to be great having Grothe, Inu and Tahu available to work the ball out of our half isn't it?

That is 20 to 30 metres on most occassions before giving the big boppers a couple of goes. One thing is for sure - we are going to be going forward next year!
  • I would have to give my vote to Joel. He does the defensive work of two backs and also knows how to finish a try from centre or wing. Has improved each season.

Inu has had his good games but just not consistent. Very predictable when he goes to dummy half. I think putting him on the wing gives us greater strength in the air be it in defence or attack.
  • I think Inu will shift to the wing on Tahu's side. Im sure we all remember some of the freaky stuff they did on that left hand side in 07. I think having Tahu along side him just gives Inu so much confidence. I know Burty is a legend and we really have to find somewhere for him. I've heard a few say Burt should be at 14 and i tend to agree. I just couldn't go past the Inu/Tahu combo. There will be plenty of tries on their side.
    • I think Inu is a different player. He's not as quick or nimble, he's bigger and more powerful. I just don't think he's a winger anymore.
      • I think the problem may be that Reddy was coaches player of the year last year ,playing at centre and obviously in Daniel Anderson's estimation did everything asked of him

On the other hand Inu has had problems with his attitude and training etc.

At ground zero it may be very hard for Anderson to tell Reddy that he isn't going to start at centre.
  • REDDY TO WING INU AND TAHU CENTRES , THATS OBVIOUS
  • yer inu is developing into a good center i think next year is gonna be his year, see what he did to jamal idris he carved him apart, i think were gonna see a heap more of that next year
  • No question that we need to go for the 2007 combo and have Inu on the wing outside Tahu.

Reddy will be effective on the right with either Burt or Grothe outside of him.
  • inu is a left hand player tho would tahu go to right center?
