My observation of Eels players.
* Junior Paulo is struggling at the moment . He did for the majority of the season as well. He seems to be lacking any kind of intent or aggression , he's just going out there and playing the game. Lots of hugging and arm grabbing and getting through big minutes with next to no impact. We might be better served cutting back his minutes and telling him to focus on providing impact . Hes not a 60 minute plus player and seems to have worked out in his mind he can get through those minutes by conserving himself or something. We need a lot more out of him in 2024.
* Asi - is a back up half playing internationals against tier 1 nations . Out of his depth.
* Dylan Brown - was rusty but good. Hopefully he gets a lot out of playing with players like Jahrome Hughes and realises what impact he can have when he stays engaged in a game. Looking forward to seeing how he goes next week and hopefully he puts his head down for a huge 2024 .
* Sivo - see Paulo. No intent in anything he does (except 5 metres out from the try line ). I think he plays his best with an experienced centre inside him guiding him through the 80 mins . Working with him in defence and holding him accountable. Bally Simonsson isn't that .. and Waqa Blake was captain chaos which was further evident this game . Sivo and Waqa was not a good combination .
Looking forward to watching Will Penis play tonight against England.

Paulo needs to be moved to the bench next year and have RCG and Emu start.
Paulo can no longer play long effective minutes and would offer great punch off the bench in shorter stints.
Paulo is on big money and I think he's signed for to long I'd personally be happy to tell to look elsewhere and reinvest that money on a quality outside back
Offside I value what you say and have felt the same abt Paulo this yr. He's on huge money and for me isn't consistent- I'd give him next yr and then look elsewhere; I feel he's sluggish at times and also is defence isn't strong. RCG and Hopgood are our leaders for me.
Hes been playing soft since the World Cup.
There is no aggression in his game at all which was not the case 12-18 months ago. There were sets there Samoa were trying to fight fire with fire against the Kiwis and Big Junior comes in to hug Tapine who walks another 10 metres while he holds him before popping a late offload. He's not playing anything like he used to.
BA keeps saying he pays Reg and Junior so needs them on the field. He plays like a front rower who is trying to go 80 mins not like one who wants to leave a mark people.
JNR is done - move him on before he sinks our 2024 campaign.
We're not cut throat enough to move him on. He'll probably see out the rest of his contract with the Eels and he'll end up like Mannah in his last 3 years
Junior should still have a few good years in him. He was a good player and can be again IMO. Hes gotten lazy with a long term deal on good money. BA needs to wake him up, take the co captaincy and give it to Reg, if he still doesn't fire up put him in Reggie's for a couple games. Unfortunately I can't see BA doing anything, he's to friendly with the players and it hurts the team at times
We don't need co captain's.
Gutho or Moses should be the sole captain.
No problems with that, unofficially there is always a forward leader though. Paulo is not inspiring anyone at the moment
Paulo needs minutes for his boxing
