Interesting press conference with BA

It appeared Baz Arthur was not too happy when quizzed by a journalist about his poor bench rotation.

Btw it was a faultless first half by the blue and gold but typical Parra in the second half.  Two point nonetheless.

  • Think BA answered him well tbh he mentioned the props and they're paid good $$$ to be on the field for long mins. Think journo was asking about the extra back on bench tbh, which again has been mixed. To be fair other teams have done the same at time, and our issue has been inconsistent playing and our spine not aiming up each week.

    • I don't think BA answered him well at all. Just because you pay them big money doesn't mean you run them into the ground. Our lack of impact from the bench combined with an overreliance on our starters will hurt come finals time. We have no one who can inject energy or change the tempo from the bench.

      • This.

We have Ogden and Rodwell who are hungry and getting nothing.

Emu is not far behind either.

      • Jr and RCG average less than 50 minutes a game. Many a prop play longer mins than that so considering the lack of impact off the  bench thats not bad at all

          • Because they are coached that way Coryn.

Chase the collision, chase the collision, chase the collision.

            That is BA's mantra.

If he wants his team to play it that way, he needs to have bench players who can continue with his mantra.

      • Agree Supe. The reporter should have replied with "yeah well you're well paid too, how about a decent fucking bech rotation you dope - is that too much to ask for?"

        • Lol Kram spot on

      • Enter Martin Kapow! 👊

      • Agree. It shows BA weakness. He is too stubborn and maybe does not take any advice or criticism well. That's why the tema is so inconsistent. Does not mean that even you paid your forwards big money, you will run the down - they are not robots, they have physical limitations.

  • We lose so much with our starting props off. I think it was MM who said as much in a post game interview. It is obvious, so BA can see it and tries to maximise their on field minutes. He doesn't seem to believe there are any other middle who can maintain the middles for longer minutes. This is why I hope they sign Taupau.
