Interesting Point

It was said during the commentary that, Robson, Keating and Morts aren't ball players, but work off the second phase play. In my opinion, I think KK is a ball player, whereas in Robbo's and Mort's case the second phase play last season might have made them look better than they really were. This isn't a stab at those players, I'm a big fan of Robson, but both have struggled to make an impact in the early rounds.

Although Robbo had a sound game at dummy half, wouldn't of been fussed if he played the full 80

  • Maybe we do have to face the reality that none of our 3 specialist half's are ball players. When the play is broken and these guys have the space to do something they're fine, otherwise they struggle. I think Mateo is best at 13 but I think he must go to 6 NOW. We can't carry a 6 & 7 of the same stature the way we are now. Don't get me started on how bad our kicking game is...
  • I think KK is a ball player and guided our team around the park much better than Robson and Mortimer have all year. He should be in the starting side, will he win us a premiership, not too sure. But he is our best option at the moment. As much as i don't like to admit that.
  • Completely agree, although i want KK to remain in the halves, he finds space with his kicks, and can find a gap, still undecided about mateo at 6. Although i think mortimer should be dropped to wenty to gain some form
  • KK is not my favourite player but he looks like our best option at this stage. I liked Robbo better at 9 tonight as well. How bad are we going that we can say any of our half's are directing us around!

I thought most of our forwards went a lot better though.
    • oh yeah definately, poore lifted immensely, still has a lot to offer, but is improving which is a bonus
  • Sorry I cant understand your point!!!

Like all fans we are all wondering what the hell went wrong everything went well on the back half of last year we know these players and the team can play a billion times better than that this has nothing to do with statistics or analysing players in their positions and if they are a good fit

We are all looking for the hard answers and excuses for a frustrating situation when the simple answers the team lack Urgency commitment the will to win aggression one word ATTITUDE!!!

Skills are not lost overnight or over a few months, it is the Attitude that is required to implement those skills on the park is the key until the eels get the Attitude back we are going nowhere Fast!!!!!!!!!!
  • it wasn't my point mate, just something I heard from the commentators, think it was laurie daily, who said it. I agree with you, the skills are there, there just seems to be no motivation at all
    • Yeah it was Laurie, Canberra lover...
    • Yeah no dramas mate!!

Then only player I can honestly say I believe the eels are missing is Kingston!!!
      • Yes, Parra really misses Kingston - his guile and play reading ability from dummy half is sadly missed

        But what about Lowrie ???

I must be THE ONLY Parra fan that misses Lowrie - his 80 minutes of quality is really missed by ME - I miss his work rate, his line speed, his off loads, his support play - Lowrie was a genuine QUALITY 80 minute UP TEMPO player on attack & defense

I know I have been going on about (possibly a bit much) lately - but seriously - didn't ANY of you see his UP SIDE and really don't you realise how his ABSENSE has unbalanced our ENTIRE forward pack

Lowrie was Parra's wild card last year - apart from Fui - was EASILY Parra's BEST forward in the second half of the year

Where were you people - probably alll caught up in Jarred & Morts hysteria and probably not watching the plays that matter - & that's always in the forward exchanges ???
