Interesting comment by Smith

In the post match interview on Saturday night, Billy Slater interviewed Cameron Smith. What I found interesting was the comment by Smith when asked about the Storms performance. He said that they didnt start well when compared to the start against Parramatta, but they were up against a different class of team (when compared to Parra). I was a little suprised at the comment but on refelction he was spot on. In order for Parra to be serious contenders, they have to become a more discplined, consistent and ruthless team. Yes they are a young team, and yes they have improved from 12 months ago, but to get to the next level, I still believe that they need to improve their mental toughness. That being said, with what Ive seen during the season, and with possible new additions, we are on the way.

  • We need to start earning the respect of other teams. That's not happening at the moment.

    • Axel, I said in another post regarding our backline especially how readily Fergo gave up on the chase with the first try scored, I don't believe he was fit enough for the game though.

The eels started the 2nd half much better and the early conceded points in the first half were killers, Sivo penalised and on report for a shoulder charge???? no different to others that he has made, and those that Taufua had made for Manly. We were never meant to advance any further.

      • Well said. Sivo penalty very ordinary when you see what Tafua has done all season

I understand Michael Buetner is quitting as head of the match review committee. Maybe the start of some major changes

        • he was a ex  parra player exs do nothing , there bad news infact.

      • at season end i saw blake and fergo where not on great terms, i think blake was cutting fergo out to much...

maybe blake should be on sevos side... and mannah was not on terms with brad...  i saw a few not 100% behind brad.

brad told moses to run the show on the field ,but gutho and fergo  and brad was running the plays..

again it was all talk by brad look at him wired up it was all the brad show not moses.. it needed poor no wonder we lost.

also who was running the team yesterday  it seems mannah or the 7... ? whos sure on that...

        • Gutho and Mitchell are very close on and off the field

  • after the storm v eels game and yesterday  our last 17, topped like a golf driver ...so in my view parra top 36 players  just can't hack it when it matters..

we need to trim the top 36 down  and send who we dont want to other clubs or the super league , you should not get beat by a shit newtown team with no forwards to note..

getting beat with 1 min to go a joke...

  • smith knows  we are easy beats, and he knows our coach is all talk no action when it matters.

we need 4 or 5 new players, i think too, brad not fronting yesterday bad real bad,,he should have been at bankwest with all the top 17.

it means so much... till he works that out we wont ever win a grandfinal again .

he been bragging for a few months how united the top 36 was, all talk brad...

    • FMD robert, put your phone...down.

      • Hahahahaha. Roberts on an RDO.

not exactly a like for like but they will need a seasoned body and Matto can play middle and edge for them."
