Props: looks like we have four playing 20, 40, 20 and using up 4 interchangesLock: Tepai seems to be playing like a third Prop. Played 63 minutes last week - should he play less? Is Edwards his interchange. Edwards can be a utility. But if he is not needed as a utility is he better on the edge than the middle?Edge: Manu and Scott played 80 last week. Should they have a restHooker: Should Peats get a restPritchard: Not sure who he is meant to replace. Played 23 minutes last week. Would we be better with another forward to keep our forwards fresh (if Pritchard only plays 20 minutes compared to another forward who may play 40 minutes). Pritchard may have given the forwards a roll on last week but he did not break the line.So if 4 props use up 4 interchangesWhat should the other 4 be

  • I think our interchange was messed up by the injury to Norman. Edwards played 49 minutes, but 40 of them were at left half.

    • And 9 of them were at right edge backrow

    • Yes - more interested of what the original plan was and what the options are
  • Agree with Pou's comment, BA's hand was forced by injury.  But the interchange will be more tactically important this year, the value of the utility may be increased.  Prichard did a good job and may interchange with Peats - can he fill-in for a back? Query whether Gower should be considered since he can play an edge forward, middle forward and at a push centre.

    • Yes - but if Scott is to play 80 minutes it will be a bit tough moving him to the centre half way through
    • I reckon Manu Ma'u is our first backup if we lose an outside back during a game. Clearly Edwards is our mid-game backup at half. Gutherson will be fullback (with Ma'u shifting to the outside backs). That covers mid-game injuries/sendoffs to the backs.

  • I reckon that is the plan

  • I reckon it's the plan too aveel. Scott probably isn't meant to play 80. He will start on the right, move into the middle for Edwards, then have a rest when he's buggered. He probably won't come back on.

  • I think if not stuck by injuries then

    Alvaro comes on for Tim
Kenny comes on for Tepai and Scott shifts to the middle with Kenny to right edge
    Peni comes on for Junior
    Kaysa comes on for Peats
    • What about the other 3?
I assume Tim and Junior and Tepai come back on with Tepai replacing Scott
Sounds good to me - a rest for all the middle
Personally I would prefer Scott to stay out on the right. I think he is better on the edge and we need his experience for as long as possible. But that is a nice problem because Kenny is also better on the edge.
