injured

Just read on the nrl site that steve matai and watmough were involved in a fight, where they were both badly injured. Matai gets enough injuries playing on the weekend let alone in the off season. cant their be one off season without any drama from an nrl club...

  • as much as i hate manly, and watmough & matai, i don't think these guys are to blame this time.
  • yer neither do i
to me this is some dickheads taking avantage of nrl players and their relationship with the media
i reckon that had watmough and matai fought back they would have mauled these three thugs
but had they have done so instead of the headline being "nrl stars mugged" it would have read "NRL thugs Brawl in sydney"
thus the three guys new that watmough and matai basically couldnt fite bak or would risk being in trouble so hence they took advantage of them
  • There is no way in the world that a guy doesn't defend himself against an attacker because of what the media might write about it afterwards - instinct must take over - so that part is crap.

I reckon the reason they didn't fight back is because they didn't get an opportunity - Watmough had to try and protect Matai because the poor guy was unconcious.

Anyway, this should not be taken as another exscuse to bag footballers, people get jumped all the time, footballers or not.

Unless this gang was waiting all night for Matai and Watmough to come out of the house there is a pretty good chance that they had no idea they were footballers anyway, they were just crusing looking for a blue.
  • Interesting that the first reports say their were only 3 blokes involved.....now 8 or more......chances are it was probably a few schoolboys & a couple of seagull cheer girls......that gave 'em a touch up............
  • LOL. good one about how matai !
