Inconsistency

I hate to dwell on things that can not be changed but how does the bunker justify awarding that last try to the storm but denies the eels for their first on Saturday night.

  • 100%. Storm initiate contact, Cronk catches it on the outside as he should, but scores the try 2 gaps over to the right between the centre & winger. COMMON SENSE was applied and a try was awarded. Exactly the same as ours on Saturday, and many others this season. Obstructed player wasn't getting there in any case, and the try was scored beyond him.

    • From what I could see it was Morgan who initiated the contact and pushed Manu to the ground and was no way disadvantaged
  • I don't know mate I just don't know. As I said in another thread there are so many reasons the bunker could have given to excuse our try on sat night but they they chose not to for some unknown reason
    • It may not have changed the result but it's still a poor decision
    • I think we would have won the game. Cooper scored on the next set for a 12 point turnaround. We showed enough after half time to show that if the scores were close at half time we would have been good enough to win
  • Even if Manu did initiate contact, the Storm player did also and there are 2 completely different outcomes as you mention

  • Coz greenburg and his cronies are inept. Fans and players n coaches know the rules like the back of our hand. Unfortunately Greenberg and all the officials change there interpretation forget even week to week it that bad or changes game to game. It's time they decide on a phucking interpretation and stick to it. Apart from the ref in the sharks v panthers game they look look like headless chooks. For them it's too late to be re-tought. Sutton, maxwell, cummins have lost respect from fans, players and coaches. Maybe not by their own fault but more so NRL in general for not clearing things up giving the refs direction on how to ref. Forget TPA's greenturd, this is the first thing Greenberg needs to fix. It's never gonna be perfect but this becoming unwatchable. Then he can look at TPA's. Once that's fixed then he's good focus on the judiciary. Those three things are fundamentally as bad as gets at the moment.
  • This. 16-14 at the 65 min mark could have been 22-8 our way if not for this decision.

  • Consistency should be right across the board from Thurston (should not have played) touching a ref the week earlier and  cameron smith touching the ref yesterday and probably going to be let off as well to having some sort of common sense when it comes to the obstruction rule and also the stripping rule. We had at least 8 legitimate strips that were called knock on/loose carries and the cowboys got a penalty every time they dropped the ball, it needs to stop and very quickly

  • It would have changed the result dramatically as the went on to score 14 unanswered points when it could have quite easily gone our way. The cowboys looked very uncomfortable and disorganized in attack and we made them look very ordinary at times but our confidence was hugely dented and it showed throughout the rest of the 1st half

"I did modern day as 1998 onwards as I didn't see them play, as some here haven't. Where I believe majority of people here have seen all the modern day players play.
Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
