Improvements required for 2016

As a squad obviously there's a need to work on the usual suspects in the off season, 5th tackle options, kicking game , kick chase , support play, DEFENCE, cohesion in the backline, but the focus of this blog is about what each member of the squad can work on individually. Reece Robinson- positional play, but mostly confidence, he seems to be hesitant to put the foot down in traffic. Support play, with his speed he should be backing up more breaks then he does. Semi- his hands can be a worry sometimes, but it's his ball playing when he shifts to centre I want him to continue to evolve as well as his defence. Taka- speed, speed, speed, speed, and sort those leg injurys out. Morgs- defence and passing skills. Norman- kicking game as well as knowing when to inject himself. I'd like to see him run the ball more but not as the second option and to put the after burners on. Mau- I'd like to see him run some different lines in attack, he could be devastating with the right guidance from his halves. Tep- lateral movement defensively. Junior- I'd like to see him work on a quality off load and he'll be without doubt the best prop in the game next year. Pauli-aggression , explosiveness and like Tep lateral movement defensively. Peats- dummy half running, the worst part of his game. I've left a number of players out like Peni and his handling I'll be interested in your thoughts onthe aforementioned players but feel free to comment on others including members of the lower grades. Maybe sixties can let us know at training I the off season if indeed the players are working on said improvements.

  • Folau to work on overall game. Improving Defence, Speed via Plyameterics, lateral movement etc. Even if it means losing a few extra Kgs, if there are some of "Izzy's" genes (and I'm not saying he will be Izzy because he won't based on physique) he has potential to be a wrecking ball.

I'd rather our centres not be as fast and be able to complete a tackle because both Morgan and Robinson seem too small to make a one on one tackle. Not only that the larger centres draw in more players.
  • Hi Bup, Paragraphs are your friend.

    Cheers.

    • The one time I'll agree with a dogs fan!
    • I did it on the iPad . I had it set out in point form. When I uploaded this is the result.
  • Need to look at why they're copping so many injuries as well
  • I think I biggest problem has been highlighted by Sterlo. The team is mentally weak and that problem was really highlighted against Canberra last round. They have been in so many situations where they just have to play some smart footy for the last 5 mins to win games but failed miserably. You would think finding themselves in those situations so often that the they would get better at closing out games but they are getting worse. This is going to be a real problem for BA next year and quite frankly I don't see a solution.

    • Flog the fuck out of them in the off season!
    • Confidence is a wonderfull thing FME.
    • You have to have confidence in the bloke next to you that he'll do his job. These last 5 years with some of our squad who are no where near first grade standard put pressure on there peers, there's no trust they'll get the job done Espeacially in defense. Next year injury free our passengers should be gone and the squad will trust, beleive in their teammates, building confidence which will result in us winning those close games.
  • That's physical. Their problems lay between the ears.

"I'm putting last year down to the new style of attack and defence that had been implemented, as well as relying on Volkman at half. It was a disatorous 1st half without doubt, but I can't see that happening again. We should be much better prepared…"

"It was. Mainly because Read came off as a total fuckwit. While it's nice to see (most of) the media on our side in this case, it;s really hard not to be."
