Important: Leagues Club Voting Closes Soon

Mail and online voting will be closing soon for the Parramatta Leagues Club AGM which includes the election of two directors.

Mail in votes and online voting must be completed by 5pm AEDST 10 March 2021.

For those who either can't vote online or by mail, you can still attend the AGM on Sunday 21 March at 10am in the Cumberland Lounge of Bankwest Stadium and cast your vote.

To be eligible to vote you need to be a current financial member of the Leagues Club for a minimum of three consecutive years.

Greg Monaghan and Sue Coleman are the two current board members seeking re-election and 1 Eyed Eel endorses their candidacy.

Also standing for election are:

  • Tony Buek
  • Denis Fitzgerald
  • Luke Magee
  • Stan Kriaris

Candidate statements can be found here: https://www.parraleagues.com.au/content/uploads/2021/02/Computershare-download-Candidate-Statement.pdf

It's important to note that Fitzgerald and Buek both opposed the constitutional amendments originally tabled by former club administrator Max Donnelly and passed by Leagues Club members at the start of 2020.

Under the leadership of the current board including Monaghan and Coleman, the club is in a strong financial position, tabling a profit only $100,000 short of the mark set in 2019, despite the club being shut for 10 weeks in 2020.

It is imperative that if you are eligible to vote, that you do so, whether by pre-polling or on the day, in person. Only through a large turnout can the club hope to continue on its upward trajectory and leave the previous years of tumult well in the past.

Details on the AGM and voting are available here: https://www.parraleagues.com.au/2021-agm/

If you are eligible to vote you will have already received an email with your PIN to sign into the online voting platform. Please check your junk mail if you can't find it.

  • There is also Special and Ordinary Resolutions vote.

Can anyone give a summary of what that is about.

    • So the Special Resolution is to admit Chris Jurd as a Life Member.

The Ordinary Resolutions are your standard AGM votes; accepting previous meeting minutes, expenses, directors payments and approving the Life Member benefits.

      • Thanks mate
