I'm feeling positive

I never like to see the Eel's flogged but surely it is now impossible for the club to continue to put its head in the sand over its halves.

Can we all now please agree that Daniel Mortimer is not a halfback.

Can we all now please agree that putting Jeff Robson back in the halves is not going to make a stick of difference.

Can we all now please agree that we need to get out best attacking players - that's Kris Keating, Feleti Mateo and Tom Humble into the halves.Given that Kris trained a fair bit in the halves, I'm pretty optimistic we might actually see him in his right position for the first time this year.

And I'll take either Feleti or Tom at pivot. Matt K is sure to hold his position after today's display and I think we finally have a team that can start winning football games.

If you ever doubted why Kris needs to be at half, surely you have it now. The side-to-side crap we produced in that first half was agonising. You stick KK in and tell him to go forward like Maloney did and you suddenly have a different football team.

I am concerned at the coaching staffs inability to get the players in the right spots. Mortimer is not a 7. He is a link player the Matty Johns of the Johns boys. And not yet physcially big enough.

Humble is not a 1 could be a 6,.

Mateo is a cross between 13 and 6 and Im not sure it matters what number he has on his back. Hindy Mateo and Ben Smith give us no dynamic running game so our attack is stiffled other than our props to run straight,

I like MK but he is limited.

Players I have seen enough of in the Blue and Gold: Robson, Jono Wright, Oake,

Players Id like to see given a go; Humble at 6. OHanlon. Inu to only play wing. He is a quality winger.

You know what we need some leaders. Some players with some mongrel competitive edge. We just seem soft. Our centers and second rowers (our outisde thirds) do not go over the advantage line. Its stand flat and shovel pass.

I DONT LIKE THE IDEA OF MATEO AT 6 but it is our best option. KK at 7 Mateo at 6 Humble at 14 MK at 9. Move hindy to 13 and play the best ball running backrower next to Ben Smith. Maybe OHanlon. Horo was rubbish today but he has been so good he need a chance

Hopefully the benching of morts is a sign that DA is about to make the right changes and not pick a side based on who is or isn't going to be here next yr, we need the best players in the right positions for this yr worry about next yr then.

  Of course he is talking about short term win results, at this point this yr is more important than next. worry about next yr next yr if we get to the point this yr that we can't make the 8 than build for next yr.

  I don't see how you can give it to Oake. Brilliant play for the try. He only dropped one ball and that was off a hospital pass. Made 31 tackles and his first half in particular was excellent

U all make me laugh!!! FINALS!!!! last year when we were on the bottom, we were at least capable of scoring points. This year we have no idea except for 2 games. Last year has proved to be a fluke run. They cannot do that again. No one ever will like that again.

Phil Gould said a very smart thing earlier in the year about us. He said we dont know how we win and we dont know how we lose. We just go with the flow with NO STRUCTURE or GAME PLAN and see if it works.

He is right. Last year eveything just came off. This year we are not even trying the same things enough as we should. We dont even have support play anymore or second phase. The good teams know what they are going to do to win before they play. We dont. Simple as that. Maybe thats where Ando should come under fire. I am a fan of his but something has to give. Morts is a 6. Thats it. Now Keating is leaving we gotta buy a good 7. Humble has potential but a year off being good for us. Pele is rubbish. I like Manase though. Wanna see more of him.
