IF YOU DON`T WIN YOU COME LAST #2

Nelly Melba once said that she never once sang to other than a full house. When I blog I usually get more than one or two replies. On the occasion of my blog this morning I have received 34 or so replies, Whilst not in the Melba class, I am much pleased with the response. I hasten to say I have not read but one of them from an old friend, full of praise. What comes next I feel will bring me much schadenfreude. Thanks to all who did reply. Because of some computer or site glitch, I cannot reply to each. So again thanks to all.

I never saw last night's game. But have since seen some of the issues complained about. It is no news to say that we got a raw deal last night. We always get the rough end of the pineapple from those in chard in the finals game. It Is a given. I see that the penalty count went 7 to P and 2 to the Eels---outrageous in a  final.  MM was blatantly held and no action was taken. I take that there was more of the same elsewhere in the game. The NRL is not an even playing field.

  • I don,t quite understand your blog title Robert..

I as many was really frustrated with last night's loss.. There is some consolation to be had in the way we played yesterday. We had some questionable results in the latter part of this year and showed a really gutsy 80-minute  effort yesterday which was the best game of the finals series,I am happy to be sitting in our shoes than those supporting Bulldogs with only 3 wins.We had some great moments this year with some good wins. When the dust settles this year we will start next year with some high expectations knowing that we will be in the mix again towards the end of next year.I think BA has been under enormous pressure towards the end of this year. I think that is a good thing. Many suggest {myself included} that BA has been stubborn with aspects of his coaching.I hope he feels challenged now to have a real good look at what areas he needs to address for next year. The Power game mentality is not enough and he will need to look at better attack options to complement our game.It was good to see a story last week that he acknowledged that we needed to do more around mental preparation in our games. Yesterday's game showed that our mental strength improved a lot. Hope he can go a couple of steps higher in his own personal growth as a coach next year. People mature at different rates.

    • Just to add to my comment Robert. Next year BA will be on even more pressure to avoid the fade-out type slumps he has had in previous years. He will want to renew his contract and the pressure on him to get another gig wilth us .It will be a do-or-die effort from him. to go a couple of notches higher. We just may see some attitudinal changes to take into account some of the harsh criticisms dished out to  him to address a more creative approach with attack coaching

      • I get the feeling the club will move early Tad and resign him before next season begins.

No inside info just a gut feeling I get with our club....they just seem happy to keep with the status quo.

        • I thought I am going nuts.Frank.There are two blogs with the same title.I didn,t realize some have already posted on Robert's blog and thought I was the first to reply to his blog.I would prefer to consider holding off resigning him till later in the year.and see how he goes.
