Parramatta Leagues Club Reform

Dear Members and Supporters,

All Parramatta Eels Club members (PLC) who are three-year financial members please Save the Date of 10th September 2019. The is the date for the meeting for a vote on constitutional reform at the Parramatta Leagues Club (“PLC”).

This is one of the most important meetings in the Parramatta Eels recent history as eligible PLC voting Members will have an opportunity to endorse important governance reforms that will ensure that the stability and growth that we have achieved over the last three years in the Football Club continues.

The Football Club with your support, is starting to move towards its rightful place as one of the premier sporting organisations in Australia. We are not there yet but we are heading in the right direction. To ensure we maintain the current level of stability and continue our period of growth, the Football Club is committed to supporting the PLC Administrator, Max Donnelly in his attempt to implement key reforms at the PLC.

It is critical to the ongoing success of the Parramatta Eels that we have stability on our Board. As such, we are asking all Eels Members and fans who are three-year financial members of the PLC to attend RSVP and attend the meeting.

For more details on reform and all FAQs please read the below.

This is in the best interests of our club. A Yes vote and our Administrator leaves and the club can move forward.

Anyone who votes No is voting against the entire organisation and in their own self-deluded, self interest.

Turn up, Vote Yes let’s just move forward.

  • Well said Muttman. I’ve been to every vote in the past and left the meeting very dejected at the outcome. We’re seeing  great progress in all areas of our club, let’s not undo it and give it back to the factions and their own self interests!

    VOTE YES......I will.....

  • I am trying to organise myself so I will be able to come and vote.

Is there anything I can do if I cannot attend?

    • Tell other members who are eligible to go and vote.

    • I believe it is a maximum of three consecutive 3 year terms, or a maximum of 9 consecutive years

    • First members votes will occur in 2021. Directors will be up for election every three years with a maximum directorship of 10 years.

Full details on the vote are available here: https://www.parraeels.com.au/reform

    • Fong, members can vote any of the directors out that are chosen after a 15-month period, when the first directors will go up for election under the new triennials. In fact I can pretty much guarantee that there will be an election faster if we get this initial board in, then continuing to defy the wishes of the regulator who have already said they have no intention of allowing the first board to be constituted via an all-in election. The stupidity of this whole thing, is that the first member vote would already have taken place probably if this had of got through the very first time.

  • HEY PHIL-SIR SUPER. THIS VOTE IS THE BIGGEST THING TO PROMOTE OVER THE NEXT 24 HRS.  WHY ISN'T THIS ON THE TOP PAGE ???????
