IF (and that's a big IF) we are able to land Inglis it will be a master stroke on Ozzy's part. Souths jumped the gun by announcing his "signature" too early and now there is a Mexican Stand-off. The Storm don't want any of the 3 being shopped around. The Cowboys aren't too keen either (although I wouldn't be surprised if Crocker ends up there). Besides who will take an "off-loaded" player still under contract without asking for part of that players contract to be carried by the releasing club? We are the only other club who are able to carry any one of those players. Ozzy is standing his ground (by stating that he doesn't want any of the 3) for the very reason that if those players aren't released Souths cannot afford Inglis. This being the case and Inglis wants to remain in the NRL we are the only club who can afford him plus we have the SK factor in our favor as well. If this is the case it would be a masterstroke on Ozzy's part. I think there may be a chance that this could happen as I don't think that any club is happy with the way that Crowe & Co. "poached" Inglis so I doubt that they would come to the "rescue" for Souths. The only thing that I am worried about is that Crocker and Lowe could make huge coin in the UK.

Inglis won't come to the eels. Infact if he doesn't sign with Souths I think he will leave the NRL altogether. Too many factors attracted him to souths (the Aboriginal community, Mundine. Crowe, invalid third party-deals). Yes we might have SK but we also have associations with Danny Green who I understand Inglis doesn't have much time for due to his friendship with Mundine. This would be the perfect opportunity for the eels to sneak in & steal Issaac Luke from under souths nose.
IFwe get Inglis - I'll hand in my membership.
The drama's unfolding at Souths at the moment will be a massive hurdle for the club come 2011. I am happy to see Souths and GI in all of the headlines at the moment though, it gives us a bloody break for a while.
Inglis is just a big unit with speed....who would have thought, a prop with pace in the backline causes some damage. As for his actuall skill level, week to week commitment and general attitudes, I really think that it would be a huge mistake if the Eels were to sign him.
In a Melbourne Storm side bristeling with talent (illegal talent) and now famous for thier grit and machine like playing style and work ethic, Greg Inglis either scored tries by running into and over people, or looked like the sides week link. It was long predicted that he would have been the one too go from the 'Big Four', because the others are leaders, creators and pillars of commitment out on the field. Inglis was never and never will be any of those things.
**Please dont think that I am a Storm supporter...just read over the post and realised that Im giving them a bit of praise. I think I am as big of Storm hater as anybody, but nobody can deny that they are an ultra proffessional side on the field.
wont happen did you see inglis he at least 20 kgs over weight, way behind in training to where parra is now under sk.
why pat him 600k..no way, better off with tonga and or cronk..
Apart from his track record off the field, I dont rate him on the field either.
I think he is massively overweight and has been for a few seasons. He is lazy and only seems to get involved when it suits him which is usually at the back end of the game. He makes a couple of solid runs and usually rolls straight over a couple of tired opposition outside backs and crosses the line. And people think he is some superstar of our game!!!! Please.....
I would not give him any more coin than Reddy. I dont think Reddy is the best centre in the league but I would rather him than GI. At least Joel has a bloody go, shows some ticker and is trustworthy.
Stay away GI....
the only good reason why we should sign him is close to the line he can barge over and score.
we need players who can score from anything
he has the size and speed to just barge over the line, look what he did to kurt gidley in origin when he bumped him off near the line and scored
we need to score more tries next season and he can do that for us
Look at the bloke. Let him go to the bombers. He might have skill, but I can't see him striping all that weight off to play aerial ping pong. He will be half the price when he works out how crap the game is and wants to come back.
Remember a hand shake is giving your word or a promise. Reneging shows a weak constitution.
Agreed Slip, Anthony Mundine has proven time and time again to be a cancer for other sports personalities. Nathan Blacklock, Sonny Bill Williams, Soloman Haumono, and now Inglis!
Mundine is probably the most prolific high profile star killer this country has ever produced!
