IF Moses is out and I do not think he will be?

What no one really wants to talk about is who would replace him.....we all know who it would be.....but it shouldn't.

My expectations are he will play, my fear is that JA will be on the bench as a standby!

I can't imagine what justification BA would use to keep him on the bench, but imagination doesn't seem to be an issue in his selection ethos.

Historically BA rarely drops a player when they have had a shocker and that is just not his son, he seems to delight in trying to not appease  people after he makes a selection that doesn't work.

Loyalty is wonderful but reliability is better BA!

Either of those sides I saw last night Cows and Sharks would cut JA to pieces if he goes up against them......Raiders who knows but they are unorthodox something we are not!

I really think we have to look at the alternative of Guth as a half if required, wether in the first instance of Moses not playing and in the second instance of a mid game change.

Plenty of people will argue don't weaken his current position but I believe he is potentially as creative and maybe more so than the existing halves, no one has got Moses kicking game, long or short but Guth would be more hands on organising the ruck in my opinion, that not saying he should be there but as anternative of everyone knowing how Parra will play, it may be a differential.Maybe you would not show this hand before the game.

I would have Simonsson at fullback if that eventuated, either on the bench (he may not even get on in the actual game) or if the worse happens as an outright selection. JA should not be in the 21 but that won't happen.

  • So your problem is essentially with the coach.  Why not just say sack the coach because with Jake in the 17 we're no hope of getting very far and Brad made the problem by ignoring the fact that Jake will never be good enough. Brad ignored the problem thus not having alternative back up halves/ utilities .

Also having Guth at 6 is a better option but there's no chance that's happening.  Brad is just too farking stubborn. In his mind Jake is the next immortal

    • I saw I had one reply and it was you Chief......h'mmm

Now let me explain to you my unintelligent friend.....if you cannot gather that assumption from what I have written, why would I bother putting it in your words.

Think about it and wonder why you have shit put on you everytime you say the same thing.

There are many ways of saying that your services are no longer required besides just berating the coach with the same things over and over again.

      • PS I would have Guth at 7 not six, why restrict Brown from his usual game. Guth is a natural dummy half and would give a better balance in service than we get from Mahoney. I thought Mahoney's service was poor on Friday night but it got lost in the balance of the excellent pass he made for Kufusi's try.

That's not saying Mahoney be replaced by Guth at DH as much as the variety it would/could offer.

You would note that Hughes from Storm (who I rate as a better half than Cleary) is a former fullback who I think Guth could imitate in terms of game style.

        • I would have Gutho at 7 and Brown at 6 and bring in Simonsson to go to fullback.

Then bring in cartwright or nathan brown for JA on the bench.

          Much better squad!

      • Mate you know nothing will change.  Jake will be the 7. I said your selections are better options but sorry Jake at 7 is set in stone, and if not he'll be in the 17

        • "So your problem is essentially with the coach.  Why not just say sack the coach because........"

          • Pops, you know and I know that discussing and throwing up these better options will only result in further disappointment when the teams come out on Tuesday. I've come to terms with Brad's stubbormes and it would be healthier if you did aswell because hope on this subject brings further disappointment. It's just not cricket

    • If the club had selected jason Taylor over BA back when, we would have won a GF by now 100% guranteed

      • I liked JT , but has been about 20 coaching gigs available since his last coaching gig and nobody has picked him up.

If we'd simply kept Smith instead of fans sooking about only making GFs and Prelims , we'd have won one by now. Smith built cracking teams , he was just very very unlucky that he came up against some of the best teams and coaches the games ever seen in his GFs .

Since then we've seen some of the shittest teams ever in the GFs .

        • JT would definitely add to our coaching staff unlike Nathan Cayless..
