If Melbourne win, do we rest players?

If Melbourne win tomorrow night, top 4 seems out of our reach, so do we just rest players? I think it is worthwhile to have us recharge and ready for semi's where we need to back-up 4 wins in a row to win a title.

I do not think you go 100% resting, but players such as Brown, RCG, Paulo, Lane, Gutherson, Mahoney, Papali'i and Moses. The back-line can stay in tact.

For example

1. Russell

2. Sivo

3. Penisini

4. Opacic

5. Blake

6. Perham

7. Arthur

8. Makatoa

9. Rein

10. Kaufusi

11. Cartwright

12. Niukore

13. Brown

14. Hands

15. Ogden

16. Rodwell

17. El-Zakham

Now that wont be the team list but i just wanted to give an idea of how they could do it if BA is to rest them.

If top 4 is very long odds come next Thursday look to future and rest them ready for semis

  • Nup - our team never responds to "rests" or "time off to come together". We've always gone terribly after. No - what they need is to be loved like a red-headed stepchild

    • Apart from last year when they were rested.  Beat Knights first week of the finals and then came within a bees dick of beating Penrith.

  • I reckon so LB.

  • Yes I reckon we do , last year it did us wonders .  However , it is Melbourne and we wouod gain some big confidence heading into the finals beating them AGAIN.  If it wasn't Melbourne next week it'd be an easy yes for me , but because it's them I am really unsure.  We aren't as convincing as we were this time last year.

  • Yeah we did this resting last year or year before whatever u would have to think those names u mentioned along with myself

  • Gosh it's a hard call on this LB

Trouble is getting belted coming into finals ain't great for us either

But if anyone needs a rest it's RCG hope he gets a rest regardless

  • Good question LB, i reckon we should. keep going to keep our energy and form, id not be changing anything too much.

A win against the storm would be a big statement and great for our belief.

But would it take too much out of us before the finals?

    • That is my fear, do we go into the finals battered and bruised? A week off we go in fresh and ready to go.

    • If anything rest our forwards, bringing in Cartwright, Ogden, Rodwell and hand El-Zakham a debut, leave the backline as is, unless they rest Gutho and put Perham at 1.

      • I like your thoughts LB
