In the Eels game of musical chairs, I hope when the music stops shortly the New Zealand international has bum firmly on seat and handed his new club colours but who does that leave racing for the chairs left? who will miss out and exits this game?
Darcy Lussick- I think his fate is sealed no matter what type of season he has. He landed his golden egg and will never receive a 3 year payday like that again and with new signings and better recruitment strategies we will want to free up cash. With a solid season he would probably be offered a heavily reduced contract to stay but I'm sure a desperate club like the Titans or Raiders would offer him more. I think 2015 could be his last in the blue and gold.
Chrissy Sandow-I hope he is sitting on a chair and not the fall guy. I think he and Foran would make a great halves pairing. $550k was big dollars when he first signed on but not bad for a good 7 in todays market. With a consistent season again in 2015 he will field other offers but I have the feeling he will show loyalty and re-sign for less if in fact he is in BA's plans.
Corey Norman- If Foran signs then his future could go many ways and he still has 2 years to run on his current lucrative contract. BA might see him as the preferred pairing with Foran and Sandow is moved on. He could be moved on at seasons end and we would have to part pay his last year to join another club. Nobody will pay $450k for him outright. Another option is he is moved to fullback in 2016 which thus far seems to be his more natural position. This then leads to the next player.
Will Hopoate- What type of season is he going to have? Has he blown all the cob webs off and after a full off-season under his belt going to be back to his best? If so, what is his price tag to stay? he would have to have a hell of a season to warrant the same money as his current contract but then again if he kills it this season, and as they say you need a good "spine" for success. Peats, Sandow/Foran, Hopoate is a super one if they all play to their potential and you pay the big dollars for players in these positions. What type of loyalty will he show at seasons end if we want to retain him? If he doesn't perform to expectations will he simply not be offered a contract knowing other clubs will offer much more? I have no doubt if we land Foran regardless of the season Hoppa has Manly will make a big play to lure him back. Simply pay back.
Joseph Paulo- He to most peoples surprise was not asked to play in this game after securing a new 2 year deal. He would have to have one hell of a season because I have no idea how BA could yet again guarantee him a chair in 2016. Vai Toutai is in the same boat and both are just taking up salary cap money and a top 25 position in the squad. Luke Kelly again showed in the Penrith trial he simply cant cut it and time to be cut.I don't care if he is on a second tier contract only he has been here for 3 years now and has not improved a bit but still finds himself on the Seattle trip, in the nines squad and the first choice 7 when Sandow was injured. Ryan Morgan's destiny is in his own hands to see if he gets the invite to participate in 2016.
They are all jockeying and circling for position, there are not enough chairs for everyone, anxiety building, any minute now the music will..............STOP!

Don't stop the music, nobody can stop the music.
Having been thinking about this with the fans on hear whinging about the $$$$ we are spending on Foran.
The money he will be on next yr would be the same Hayne would be on.
Then I believe Hoppa will leave
I would love for us to resign Sandow I believe he and Foran will be the perfect combo and as Electric said Sandow has said he wants to repay Parra for the faith shown in him.
People need to remember with Hayne leaving with have a lot of $$$$ up our sleave and I wouldn't be surprised if some contracts are renegotiated to be front ended to take advantage of this.
Its funny how people thought the world was going to end when Hayne left us but it has actually worked in our favour
It only works in our favour if we improve on 10th position. Wins are all that matters.
I'm sure you spent many nights there, I'll take your word for how good it is.
Hayne leaving hasn't worked in our favour. Foran on his own won't win us a premiership but if we had Hayne and Foran we would be a huge chance. The only way the Hayne fiasco would work in our favour is if we get Foran , Jarryd fails in the NFL and the crooks at the NRL let us sign him on a reduced contract with a marquee player top up.
Clive I think it has.If Hayne was here with Hoppa we may have struggled to come up with this money for Foran.Yes he wont win us a Premiership on his own but he is an importance piece of the puzzle.Plus if Haynes NFL contract did fall over and Hoppa was leaving we then have $$$ up our sleeve.
Besides I really think people will be surprised how good Hoppa is at the back for us this yr
