Ian Schubert

This year is probably the worst for the Eels on record and the hits just keep coming. From Foran to Semi to the points and the board it is enough to turn you off league forever. That being said, i am actually proud of the way that Schubert has been handling himself and the dramas.I like his no nonsense attitude, the way he has stood up to Semi but also looked for a solution to the problem.I also like the fact that he has stood up to Foran as well.I wouldnt mind him as our fulltime boss

  • We need constants to get through this year's sh*t.

BA, Bevan and Schubert are the people to steady the ship. Need a couple more and we'll be sweet for years to come.

  • It would be a good move if Parra kept him and offered him the job fulltime. However this is Parramatta and they will do the opposite
  • Not sure I'd want him as our fulltime boss, does he have the credentials to be chairman or even CEO? But do like the way he has handled himself with these ridiculous situations we are faced with in semi & foz. Dead set it's like these 2 especially semi are oblivious to what's happened over the past 6 months. I mean really after the players we've lost, the points being deducted, the board room shamble's etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. you now want to walk out mid-season cause you're not getting paid enough??? Shit for brains most of these footy players have got unfortunately!! Smh
  • Nice Blog mate, and i was thinking the same but have heard off some very reliable sources that he is way out of his depth, theres a few little rumblings going on, especially after he recently told people he didn't think we needed TPAs at the club in the future and people would come for cheap just to play under BA.

Its so ridiculous that its almost to silly to talk about, but not doubt he has had a very tough gig but if he thinks we don't need TPAs at the club he might have some frontal lobe damage.

There is absolutely no way in the world he is qualified to be our boss, he is an accountant and completely unqualified.

    • Maybe he is wrong about TPA's maybe he is right or somewhere in between. The Eels have been paying overs for players for too many years and players like Semi are using their TPAs not being paid as a reason to walk away.

I think you are right about him not being qualified for the job but i do like his tough no nonsense approach.
I think its what the Eels need atm
    • Normally, I'd prefer a full bottle in front of me instead of a full-frontal lobotomy, but the way things are going for our Eels off-field right now, I might just change my mind.
  • I can see him having some role at the club but not boss.

And if everybody is given a TPA system to use you can't not use it, that puts us behind the 8 ball straight away.

We have a thriving business district, huge media and tv exposure, anybody who thinks TPAs can be of no use to us in Parramatta are off their head imo and doesnt have the vision or smarts to get them, thats what I'm concerned about, limited vision and not using every legal method to our advantage.

    • You are right about our thriving business district but the major issue we have with out TPAs is that all the businesses use this as their way to get on the board and take over the club. How many examples do we have of this.
I speak with Craig Bellamy regularly and so many of his players dtay with the club or join the club for unders just to play under him. They have TPAs but most of their players are playing under market value.

I think Shuey deserves a role in the club though full time
    • I had actually suggested the ideal role for him would be the position that has been held by DA, especially if he is still deregistered when the NRL hands down their final decision.

It would mean he has the reigns in the contract role of signing new players, with BA as the person who is the one who says who he wants & the numbers involved. As Shoo has been active in the player contracts with the NRL as well as with the eels for some time now, I am sure he could fit into that role without much of a worry to the club coach & the like.

In the end whoever gets that job needs to be someone who knows the contract & money side of things & at the same time those at the club are comfortable with him (or whoever gets the job). If he can swing deals & can work with players so they are not demanding overs, along with TPA's that can cause issues again, then he would be the ideal fit.

He will have the primary board/Ceo over him as the controllers of the club,& they would also have to agree with what he would be doing in regard to the money side of the signings.

  • Allan he stated that in the members council meeting champ, once again you've got NFI what you are talking about, i thought you told me how committed Semi was to the club and had a crack at me for saying i thought foran wouldn't see out his contract, lets wait and see what happens Allaaaaan, mate have you been remotely right on anything, i'll wake you up when its over mate.

Looks like i was spot on with my call Semi was very unhappy and wanted out ASAP and had been organising outs, how fucking stupid are you looking now champ lol, didn't you blast me for spreading false stories then too you simple fool.

Wake up Alaaaaaaaaaan you poor simple dead shit, wake up champ

    cheers
