I think we miss the 8

To the end of the season, we play;

Tigers

Warriors

Broncos

Panthers

Manly

Rabbits

Bulldogs

Broncos

Storm

Lets say based on current form, we should win 3 of those. Which leaves us on 26 points. I think we are playing for 8th spot based on for and against with Raiders, Roosters and Rabbits who have similar draws.

If we cannot find at least 4 wins from our final 9 games, I think we will miss the 8. If we continue to go form roller coaster (w-l-w-l-w-l-w-l) we might make 8th spot - just.

  • Hopefully Melbourne will be in a position to rest players for the last round that might get us in the eight but don't hold your breath

    • No I will not hold my breath either .

  • To me Eels current form should be construed as no lesser than winning at least every second game ( i.e. a good win one week and a loss out of form the  following week and so on ) .  So out of your 9 games remaining above the Eels should easily win at least 4 and would make the final 8 .

  • In some ways I hope the Eels do miss the 8 for the following reasons:

    1) It might just might mean they get rid of Brad Arthur as coach.

    2) The Eels won't make a dent in the finals even if they did make the top 8

  • Out of all those games, Warriors, Tigers and Bulldogs are the only ones classified as 'should win' for us. Broncos, Sea Eagles, Rabbitohs are 50/50 in that we should win it but teams that can beat anyone.

Penrith and Melbourne we would not be favourites. Unless Melbourne rest players, which i am not sure they will.

  • Only 3 of those are chances of winning. Even then, we may not win them given this inept lot.

  • Well Souths is a certain loss and the others are all a gamble even the tigers we could well miss the 8 I wouldn't be surprised if we do it will be bottom half anyway and be cannon fodder for the top teams home semi

  • I'm prepared for us to miss the 8

I'm expecting BA to get a contract upgrade as a result of it to 'provide stability as we rebuild'

And the cycle to go on and on and on

    • I really really hope not. I couldn't stand another 1 or 2 years of the Brad Arthur dribble

    • I'll top myself if that happens ....

I see it either being a close game with Parra winning or us winning by over 12 points."

I totally agree with your comments regarding the importance and benefits regarding local juniors at discounted rates, however,  this is only a factor with their 1st contract if they show promise.  Once a player starts showing they have regular…"
