Obviously Jarryd was a freak on the field!! He did things that were just incredible and helped win many games for us.That also Depended on how involved he got, sometimes he had quite games and not to many players would lift to change momentum.I think it took me about 4 days to get over his absence in 2015 and look on the bright side.after he announced he was leaving is when I chose to become an out of state member and really back my team.I believe that now he is gone players will step up, the players will be more of a team and not rest on their feet and leave it to Jarryd to clean up.I feel we have talent and we will gel more so in 2015. Our standard has lifted and Jarryd is erelevant.Lots of people think we're a one horse show and have written our chances off and i love it!I'm more optimistic than ever!! After all what else as supporters do we have but optimism?

  • 100% positive.
Time for this team to play like one.
  • Kind of a dumb question. It's obviously a HUGE negative.

Whenever Jarryd has been playing behind an effective forward pack, he shines and WINS GAMES.

Unfortunately, Jarryd has not had this luxury in most of his time at Parra.

Having said this, it doesn't mean we have lost all hope now that he's gone.

  • I know the topic is old now. But I'm new to the site, sorry I should have asked the question differently, yes it's a huge negitive that he is gone but I feel as a team they will now take positive steps in playing like a team. I take more positives out of the situation than negitives. It's a make or break season in a lot of ways but I feel this will bring the best out in the team. I just can't wait for the season to start. I will be flying down to out first home game. I've alway seen the supporters on tv and we produce one of the best crowds in the league. Just can't wait to be amongst it!
    • Whether hayne's absence will conjure a positive or a negative.for the club remains to be seen.

No one can be really sure,

Personally I'll miss his sheer genius.

Never the less a guaranteed positive is having a new member flying in for the start of another season.

ONThaEELS you're going to love your first nite at Parra!

  • Yes
  • Evidence (and there is a lot of it) indicates that this will be an enormous loss for the Eels. We barely won any games without him. These are the facts.
To suddenly be confident that we will win consistently without Jarryd is merely wishful thinking and nothing more.
There will be plenty of positives to take out of 2015 I'm sure but to suggest that we will not miss Hayne at all and in fact will improve without him is ludicrous. Maybe 2016 things will be different when we have signed another marquee player or two perhaps..
    • Agree muttly.

    • Style of play and gameplan will be different now, Mutt. In the past everything revolved around Hayne, which is why we struggled so much when he wasn't there. We'll miss him no doubt, but we'll adapt and find another way to win.

    • True, I completely aggree with what has been said here. EWRA, I think you said it best. I just keen to see how and who will shine on the field now. I think we will have some great wins in 2015 and they will be all the sweeter with the way the boys earn them.
  • A double edged sword, is always a dangerous weapon, for the swordsman and opponent both
