I was also very disappointed when Sowie declared Parra wooden spooners again before a ball was kicked, but I made a point of looking his predictions up after the first game against the Panthers and there he was conceding his error without any prideful excusues. Ever since that win he has defended his stance that Parra are the real deal even after our loss to the Chooks. Soward has continued to elevate Parra in his season predictions where we have moved gradually up the ladder of his predictions.

Mr Soward is that lovely bloke who threw that intercept pass to Eric Grothe Jnr who ran 80 metres to score a defining try in the 2009 semi final against St George at Kogarah.Luke Burt kicked a field goal and JH sored that try to put St george in a losing semi against the Broncos. It was that intercept try to Grothe that made the match.
The reality is that media pundits are paid to express an opinion, preferably one that will attract eyes & ears or generate clicks. These opinions don't necessarily represent their own personal opinions, but they are required by their employers to illicit passionate responses from fans.
So guess who are the most passionate fans in the NRL, and therefore the easiest to excite ?????

I don’t particularly like Jamie Soward but he did come out with an unreserved apology to all Eels fans for his error in selecting the Eels for the Wooden Spoon. He posted it on NRL.com
Plenty of people here also predicted eels to come last or bottom 4 are you gonna span pies in all their faces too. Even though only 4 games in most of them have changed their tune as well.
If it was easy to pick which teams will succeed or fail then there would be lot of rich people and broke betting agencies but truth is it is the reverse with betting agencies making more money then ever before

I'm hearing what you mean 2145. It's not that he ranked the Eels so low in the pre season, it's more about the way he said it. He seemed to get pleasure out of putting the Eels down. He was so sure the Eels had nothing to offer this season and I'm glad the dirtbag gets to eat his words. Even when we won the first couple of games he had us down the bottom of the power rankings which really got me off side.
Yes his position regarding the Eels has changed but stiff shit. Although why waste a pie when you can use a brick.
