What I find extra amusing about that quote (trying his best to defend himself) was that he did the exact opposite of picking the best 17 to accomodate. That'll do me.

Well really, the thrashing of Newcastle had nothing to do with JA, he was ordinary. The thrashing by the Cowboys was not only due to JA, but he was less than ordinary. The fact that the team leaders "say different" is irrelevant, that is like believing a Prime Minister during an election campaign or believing Scomo at anytime.
The continual horse shit here and more elsewhere is the attempt to justify splitting the spine, the single dumbest coaching move since Anderson tried 1 marker. When you have your halves in career best form you do not split them, especially when A) You do not have an up and coming talent B) You have other options for Centre. Players backing the coach in the media is horse shit, towing the company line, what else are they going to say publicly.
Interesting thing when you say:-"What do you suggest we pull someone from the stands grab reserve graders that aren't up to it" Evidence would indicate that is exactly what we did.
This has been going on since last year when BA was playing JA or picking him on the bench and sometimes not even playing him, its not all about the last few weeks although thats exactly what BA and some people are trying to make out.
This issue started long ago and many of it could see it coming and called this would happen.
i think both are important to have a go at, unfortunately, BAs got his hand in both and is the very reason JA was premoted quickly, nobody else did it.
Why did he do it ? Ok I will get back to you. Because he mistakenly thinks his son has what it takes and he weakened a great strength to strengthen a less significant weakness.
Yeah nah, I'm not buying what you are selling. BA mucked around with JA in the side for a while now, he preemptively did this JA to 5/8 BS in the trials. Last year he put a backrower in the centre and it worked a charm, any backrower would have been a better decision, less disruption to attacking patterns and defensive.
Agreed. BA should've just taken ownership instead of claiming he did what every other coach woulda done. There is zero chance every single coach in thr NRL would've done the same thing. That is a ridiculous statement.
Agree JJ. I wonder how many coaches would like to have JA in their roster so that they could pick him every week in their top 17 and measure the rest of their top 30 by that bench mark?
I would've respected BA more if he said not to blame JA but blame him for making the selection "If you have an issue with the selection, take it out on me not Jake" But he didn't say that. Instead, he did a "well everyone else would have done the same as i am an NRL coach and you are not" type response, it was not a good leadership moment in that sense, your best 17 is playing the best 1, 6, 7 & 9 you can, Brown was the best 6 and was not named simple as that, automatically makes you weaker.

Did he? The exact opposite, you say. Feel free to enlighten us all with how BA picked the worst 17 to accomodate.
If you simply say he picked JA then that's been done to death.
Still carrying on about this move on
