I Detest the NRL Referees

After watching tonights game between the Eels and the Roosters I am absolutely disgusted in the performance and the supposed professionalism of the NRL referees. They were a disgrace tonight and practically handed the game to the Roosters. Yes, the Eels at times were their own worst enemies with errors however, the Roosters players were inside the 10 metres almost all night and they continually layed over Eels players and got away with it. The majority of knock ons by Eels players were also extremely questionable with Roosters players hands all over the ball. The amount of times Roosters players coerced the refereeing decision was also a disgrace. The last Roosters try was also from a forward pass but didnt even go to the bunker. The Eels should have won this game tonight and should remain undefeated but a combination of thier own errors and extremely disgraceful refereeing robbed them of 2 points.

  • Lol how good was the knock on ion the second last try from the roadster he lost it into the eels player and and play on. We were our worst enemy tonight and the reffs willl never be on our. Side   Still a very good game

    • Good game Frank but the refereeing and Eels errors spoilt it.

      • I missed the game for the period from the try by Takehaho until 3 minutes before full time overall I was dissapointed in many ways, especially losing by the amount they did, even though the chooks were down two of their main players they had enough in luck to win.  There were several ref calls that I didn't see as being correct calls, but a couple of them from the pocket were the worst I have seen for a while now.

I don't believe the final score really reflected the difference between the teams overall, the chooks fielded a primarilly premiership winning team where we had a more than enough rookies in the squad, all played well, the loss of Tepai may have had an affect but Terepo was strong and will be better for the run, even Evans didn't do too bad either.

Jnr showed his skills and as the season goes on with match fitness will be a big asset for us, and able to play big minutes also helps.

Question for some who saw the whole game, is did Salmon get a run on, as I don't reccolect seeing him at any point, a fresh set of legs may have helped also,

While dissapointed with the loss, I still believe we will win more than we lose this year, certainly the other teams will sit up and take notice, even the 9 commentary team were saying the eels were better than the scoreline suggested.

      • Exactly mate.

  • No different to last year, hopeless

    • Yes, Shawn the refereeing is no different than last year, still a disgrace!

  • Come on Monto! We beat ourselves. Score a try, give 1 up,never gonna win.

    • Don't think so bud last try was Not forward, dumb mistakes made it hard, but the chooks class was 2 gears in front of us. Two players down and still beat us.

Eels never gave up which is a good thing, still shows theres daylight between us and the top 6 sides, Taka done 1 good thing then 2 fuck ups. Lane was the same and MJ was nonexistent.

I think the game bought Dylan Brown back to earth, he wasn't bad, but also nuthin special, but he will improve.

  • yeah that call against gutherson playing the ball completely changed the game and gave all the momentum back to the roosters. He clearly never switched hands playing the ball & was a clean play the ball. Of course that call came right when we were in the opposing 20 & about to extend our lead to 8 points. Absolutely ridiculous call that ruined the whole game.

    • Exactly.

No way that was a knock on,

Also Tedesco knocked from a grubber and wasn’t picked up.

Also 2nd last try there was a knock on in the lead up and totally missed.

We gifted them possession but the refs did their best to help them IMO.
