I'm back.
Firstly, thanks to everyone, for keeping the site civil during the off-season and to our fantastic mods for ensuring things never spun out of control. I generally try and give myself a break from the site during December/January but inevitably get dragged into whatever personal disagreements flare up, when there isn't a lot of footy to talk about. However, this year, I actually took a genuine break from all things Parramatta, which I must admit I quite enjoyed. However, with the footy news starting to ramp up again, I've also been champing at the bit to get back into it!
Like everyone else, my inner-unicorn has raised her handsome head and it's hard not to at least hope that Brad Arthur is going to bring some steel, passion and better results to the club this year. I was particularly heartened by DK's report that Sandow was defending at the back - that to me shows Arthurs isn't afraid to try a few things and it's a tactic I've long thought could work for the Eels. And news that Corey Norman is settling in well, is also exciting. If we have firing halves, we can make the eight - if we struggle to get any form out of our 6 and 7 we'll be flat-out avoiding a third wooden spoon. I'll reserve judgement at this stage whether our halves can step up, but at least I'm hopeful.
So a few things about the site. You'll notice I've added a new News section to the front page. I'm going to start filing the news and match reports under this area, and separate them from the Blog area. That ensures you can come to the site and see what is the latest genuine news, before diving into the opinions and views that make up our wonderfully colourful blogs. Myself and Super will be primarily filing to that area, but we have any other aspiring writers/journalists that might want to cover areas like the U20's, juniors or Wenty please let me know.
I hope to continue the incredible momentum the site has gained last year, by firstly doing a little-more myself on the content front, but also I've got a few ideas for new additions to the site as well. If anyone is keen to take charge of anything we've done in the past (and maybe not done very well due to not having someone be responsible for it) then please let me know.
Anyway, it's good to be back and carn the Eels.

One immediate area, where I'd love to get some help, is for someone to take charge of adding and updating all our fixtures which we'll add as events.
Ham has already put his hand up to file reports for the Under 20's, for all the games he's able to get to. Thanks Ham!
I think Coach, Paul and Abdul need their own combined weekly column for this season... the column could simply be called "Signs"...
