Hypothetical question

So with Reynolds looking likely to go to the sharks

Hypothetically if Moses goes with the broncos offer.

In this situation we are the the team set to get the short end of the stick.

What options would that leave us with? Do we bank on Brown and Arthur??

  • Arthur is a long term possibility. Next year is a bit ealy.

Could consider Johnson if the price is reasonable - BA and Joey could try to fix his consistency etc

    • At the moment he is irreplaceable though Slugg.

  • Hi offside ,  If Mitch takes the money Jacob  is our answer with support as he is mature on the footy field and has been killing it in reserve grade. He will complement Dylan i think.

      • Reynolds is at sharks in this scenario

  • It is not just the money but the length. If Moses gets a 3 year contract that tends to rule out Jakob Arthur who would be looking to be playing first grade in 2023 and 2024. A two year contact left our options open for Jakob.

  • I personally think the club is all on for Jake Arthur.
I also believe that they will stick to a figure for Moses and won't go into a bidding war for him.
If Moses leaves the Eels will promote Jake to play with Dyl.
If Moses stays, they will have a problem with what to do with Jake.
Im a big Jake Arthur fan and I personally think Moses leaving may be a blessing in disguise.

    • The problem with that thinking, which is why I don't its true is that the rest of our team is built for Mitch's timeline, not Jake Arthur's. By the time he is ready to run the team our core will be getting old.

    • Let's not forget that JA is still eligible to play Flegg. He truly is at least two years off - probably 3. So it absolutely makes sense to re-sign Moses for 2-3 years to allow JA to deveop over time.

  • If we switch now to Jacob Arthur we regress 3 or 4 years in our title hunt. Moses has developed his game every year he has been at the eels to the point where it's a finely tuned machine now. On a par with the best halves in the game perhaps only bettered by one. Sure you can argue till you go purple that it shouldn't have taken this long but it's irrelevant. It's here now and we would be idiotic to let him go. I'm sure we won't.

    • Yeah.. I just don't see it.
I think Moses is a downhill skier.

Jake Arthur will be something special.
      Just my opinion.
