Hunt to Eels would be a Norman conquest

From Mole - almost as reliable as KuruptCOREY NORMAN is behind a push by Parramatta to pull out all stops to sign Broncos half Ben Hunt for 2018 and beyond. The pair clicked at the Broncos and Norman has been in touch with Hunt to talk up coach Brad Arthur and the future that awaits his old team-mate if he cuts ties with Red Hill. The Broncos are confident Anthony Milford and Hunt, off contract at the end of next year, will re-sign with the club post-2017.Milford is set to be a $1 million-plus per season player and Hunt’s management is keen for a big pay rise for the 26-year-old.The Mole understands Hunt is looking for a significant bump up to the realm of $800,000 per season and that the Eels will win the battle of the cash splash.Negotiations will begin after November 1 and will test the Broncos’ ability to once again get players to stay and play under Wayne Bennett for less than other clubs are offering.

Hope Normz is advising Semi as well
  • Is anyone else starting to get worried about the salary cap with all these new signings and re-signings

    • Not really, we got Brown and Vave for less than Paulo was offered apparently, Hoffman won't be on too much and we have Foran's cash, Hayne's cash, Peats cash, and Watmough's cash. As well as the cap increase in 2018.

    • We would've had plenty of room before all these signings. Guys like Ma'u will be getting significant upgrades (and deservedly so) which eats into the spare cap space, which is why Arthur didn't want to go out and blow it all on Hayne.

    • No! We should have money to buy another 2 gun players.
    • Na. I don't mind taking risks but not for the time for that at parra. Hunt would be a huge risk and if doesn't work out would set us back big time. Club should show patience. The quick fix is what always f's us up. Our current team is good enough to make the 8. Let's see how we go with this current group.
  • Lol. Now this is a quality gee up from hunt's management.
Offer him 450k to play hooker, anything else is overs.
    • Good call
But I am happy if we help up his price at the Broncos

"Da Silva is a potentially elite dummy half. He would already be on very good money, probably $600k+ and will eventually be taking the majority of minutes at dummy half. Perhaps as early as 2026. Smith might start every game but could end up only…"
