How the new boys look at training

From what I hear, they are very impressed with SHACKLETON. He is a lot fitter than he looks, does extras, above benchmarks in all strength categories and mosty importantly is liked amongst his team mates. POORE is also going well, lot leaner than previous years apparently so he can get longer game time in the rotation. HUMBLE has been training at 5/8 with Mortimer at half but also slotting in at fullback regularly. They expect him to be in the 17. He has greatly impressed DA. TAHU looks strong but that is expected !You will see a parramatta team that is FITTER than 2009, will be quicker around the ruck and they are doing plenty of skills work. The attitude is spot on and DEFINATELY no grand final hang over. You might be very suprised how quickly they hit the ground early this year as ANDERSON knows that the first five matches are crucial to to the season. We have St gerorge, Tigers, manly, Raiders I believe.....They are now on the xmas break and will ramp up the preparation first week in january.Cheers, merry christmas everyone.

    • Mate can you ever say something positive? Who cares what other teams say? Just be grateful for the information.

Thanks very much for the update Paul, very good to hear. It comes as a bit of a surprise to hear about our halves pairing, but if this is what they're going with I can wait to see what they produce. Humble is an absolute gun.

Glad the new recruits are settling in, bring on the year of the EEL!!
      • Wonder how Kris Keating feels if this is the case?

I'm tellin' ya, I can see Manly or the Dogs stepping up their contract negotiations trying to sign KK for 2011 and beyond...
        • Yeah.... I forgot about Keating. Funny how only a few years ago we had no depth whatsoever in the halves, now we got em comin out of our arses.
  • thanks for the updates paul, i really think tahus going to exceed everyones expectations sounds like hes been training the house down for the last few months and hes itching tlo go out on the footy field and prove all his doubters wrong.
  • On paper we certainly do look good for 2010. Who knows what will happen though. Injuries can ruin a season before it begins. All things being equal we'll be competitive.

    Bring on the new year!
  • I can't wait for the season to start! i really hope we get through the trails injury free. Very interested to hear Humble is expected to be in starting 17. Humble and mortimer to 2010 combo? well if they click and it works i'm all for it. However I still think Robson deserves the first chance at number 7 after he helped Parra to make it to the grandfinal. As for Kris Keating, let him have talks with other clubs. The team performs better without him.
    • kris keating is awesome player but really hasnt been given the chance to show his talent, when he was given the chance our forwards were shit the whole team was shit. And he still was a stand out player. Id like to see how he goes with fui, poore, shak, mannah, cayless, mateo firing up front ther kid has talent.
      • Yep yep. I agree with that. I think KK could be a genuine NRL star within 5 years. Easily one of the top 3 halves in the game.
  • I really think Kris Keating will be in the 17 still, as the interchange hooker. Anderson seemed keen to use him in that type of capacity last season, and with Kingston gone I think he'll slot into that vacant role.
    • Yeah, I dig that idea.

""Chance is mist" is a really appropriate typo/autocorrect. The chance just goes pfft, evaporates into nothing. Not sure Dylan B has got the mix right this year, more often passing when he should run or running when he should pass. "
