How much should we risk Foran?

Would you be happy to make the finals series regardless of how many games Foran plays? What if Foran could only play every second game, but we won each time he played?Let's look at last years ladder. There are of course 26 rounds with two being a bye. That's 24 games. If we only won half, that's 12 wins. Last season stats:12 wins = 8th spot on the ladder13 wins = 7th spot14 wins = 4th, 5th and 6thLet's assume we win every game that Foran plays. Assume with the bye, his body recovers and he plays the following week. This essentially means two games in a row. If we win all of those that is 14 wins right there.Perhaps Foran will have to be rotated out against teams that are struggling, and play the big games? Naturally we don't like to see high profile players sitting in the sidelines, however we definitely do not want to see him out for extended periods of time. This is all hypothetical of course, as nothing can guarantee a win.

  • I think the club showed in the first week they wouldn't unnecessarily risk him.
I do think its critical that Mitch Cornish is ready to go. I was a bit disturbed to read the training report this morning that said Luke Kelly was stepping into Foran's shoes while Foran was resting the hammy.

    • x 2 about Cornish and Kelly.

    • Agree 100%... Cornish over Kelly

  • Does it really matter? What if a large percentage of his salary was 3rd party and did not fall under our salary cap?
  • Our finals campaign all rests on one leg. Lol
  • Has  Brad got a hard on for Kelly what's wrong with Cornish

  • Perhaps we are being strict with the salary cap? We don't want to blow any budgets too early in the season.
  • All Foz's salary is club money, no TPAs. That may change when/if he re-signs. If still having problems in 2 years time and he wants to re-sign I think club should reduce his salary and have some TPAs as well.

    • And you know this how Glenn, did you read it in the DT ?.

  • No hiding from kelly issue but thier are complications re salary cap having already used kelly he now is counted for the season ,re mitch cornish thats allright saying rather have him but his defence is nowhere near nrl standard ,go and watch him at wenty, very very ordinary in defence , a shuffle would be better involving taka and via or folou, both killing it at wenty ,ive been to both games, incidentally manly flogged by wenty and darcy lussic made no impression whatsoever on our forwards ,he would be in ron massey for us no joke!!!!
